i know someone that wanted to get an APE for theirs
but really they dont have as many problems with cam chains than the f4is...
i know mine has never needed it replaced...so far

Mines starting to tick, and that's why I asked b/c unlike the F4i the stock ones are pretty solid on 600RR's so I thought about just getting an APE but I can get a stock one for pretty cheap.

yea in my opinion i'd go stock if you can get it for cheap
id only go with the APE one if it was either cheaper or quicker to get...i cant see it being needed that much on the RR

When you guys say "notch your fairings a little" or "cut them down a little"


do you really mean

"Cut the **** out of your upper, almost half the thing is taken off"



I cut my upper down about 2 inches on my f4i, to the top of the fairing stay.. And there is NO way I can fit clip-on's..

If I turn them anywhere NEAR straight, my turning radius drops to nothing


I've tried everything.. My front brake hits with the bars to the left, and my hand brake hits with my bars to the right




edit: and about cam chain tensoners..
If you can get au sed one, **** it, might as well

But if your spending the money for a new one.. I believe the APE setup is the same price as stock... so IMO there is only one way to go



I dunno how the 600rr is designed.. But I know on the f4i, you can MOD the stock cam chain tensoner, to turn it into an adjustable one..

dirt bike bars??? i have them on mine but i never tryd to put the plastics on with them...

my first 600RR upper i hacked in half and the brake side still hit a little...
but the handbrake side was fine...
heres a pic...

now im runnin SF but i plan on going back to FF and again i plan on hackin it in half, still doesnt mean the clip ons clear the upper...depends how much you cut
this cut here the clip ons didnt clear obviously but 636 cuts most guys have the clip ons going over top it looks
i know teach never hacked his in half right away...he just cut little notches out of the side so the levers and master cylinders didnt hit

and you cant push the bars completely straight obviously
they are still flipped so they arent down but not completely turned out
