Tabs of a gsxr 600
i have tried searching but could find anything good, i have been told that on my 02 600 gixxer, my tabs for the subframe ARE GOING TO BREAK when i start to hit the 12 bar. Does anyone have some pics of how you did it so i dont break mine. Thanks.

learn brake and throttle control and dont gorilla scrape and you will have no problems. i learned on an 04 750, which that sub is wayyy weaker than what you got and i never broke it. i didnt run a 12 bar, i just scraped plastic if i felt the need to scrape at all. if u want to do bar tricks well.........idk theyre gay. if anything put a round bar on their to save your plastics and dont slam ur bike into the bar and youll never have any problems. if u do brake a tab bring it and get it welded back up for 30 dollars and move one with your life.

Re: Tabs of a gsxr 600
ok I got a 01 gsxr.
let me tell you what I did..
I built myself my own subframe out of STEEL.. Now.. the bolts.. were like grade 6.. I dont know if higher is stronger in num ber or lower is..
but I got the weakest ones..
THEN.. I drilled out the middle of them..
What I hope for??
The bolts break before the Ears/Tabs on my frame do
So Far - so good.. Iv actualy.. Catapulted my bike 6 feet in the air before.. and I was scared the bolts were too strong.. so i drilled out the insides..
Just a thought- hope this helps

^ That person is clever.
on mine I just took two bits of steel flat bar and braced the subframe from the rear pillion mounts, to the footrest mounts. I also ran one along the subframe between the main subframe mounts and pillion mlounts.
i never broke anything, but I'd recommend the weak bolt idea so you don't **** your rearset mounts.

Re: Tabs of a gsxr 600
the whole idea of putting flat stock from the pegs to front rear sets is the best way///when i had my 02, i did a really stupid thing, but it worked well...that was welding the entire subframe to the main frame and boxing in the whole subframe...held up and worked like a champ...sold that bike to johnr from bmorex after me, he tore it up and didnt break it either....now someone else has it....from what i hear still holding....i wouldnt reccomend it, but its just another option....do the sup ties with flat stock from homedepot....ive attched a old pic of my bike welded all in(the black and red one)...and the other pic is a old friends..his was boxed in but not welded to the main frame, but he also had flat stock sub ties, so he had the best of both worlds
