is a cr50 that much better than a xr50?

i wanna pick up a 50 this weekend
i found a 2003 xr50 for $900 bucks at a shop about 3 hours away from me

will a xr50 be good enough to practice balance point on and mess around with for summer or should i really try to find a cr50?

i know nothing about these bikes

Re: is a cr50 that much better than a xr50?

an xr50 and a crf50 are the same thing just the crf's are the newer 2005 and up. 50s are cool but honestly ur better off gettin a ttr125, that will help you with clutch control and u can roll some nice stoppies on it as well as good good brake control. and 900 for an 03 50 is wayyy too much money, they only cost 1200 new. you can usually pick up 125s for 900 to 1500 and youll have alot more fun on that then u will a 50. ive had em both and the 125 is way sweeter.

i got my 06 crf50 brand new for 1,200 out the door. just call around the dealerships and tell them that the other dealership is willing to give ya a better deal than them & make em fight for the sale...

+1 for choppy throttle,

I stunted my old fiddy for a year and a bit

first month on a FI 600RR and my wheelies were bouncing up and down like a jack russel on E.

Re: is a cr50 that much better than a xr50?

But you do get to learn rear brake control esp footbrake. There right tho you gotta be choppy on a 50 and smooth on a big bike.

But I still love my 50. I put an 88RH kit in it and its so much ******* fun and alot less trouble!
