Re: OMR... got a question for yuh

the best way to show then the product is in person...just buy one... it is worth every penny... and fast shipping. best 175 bucks you'll ever spend ... i had a powers cage and it is ok... but i like the omr design 10x better...

I know Im gonna get flamed for this one, but I saw a OMR sub cage and the weldings looked...hmm really home made, just looked like I could bend few peaces of metal together by myself and weld it...it was for 08 600rr though, dont know how it looks for other models...powers looked way better...dont know anything about the riding position while in a wheelie...just thought 175 bucks for that was abit to much in my opinion...just my

Re: OMR... got a question for yuh

thanks for the kind words bishop im glad you like you omr subcage and dre for posting the link to my thread and for the most current list of omr subcages available always check the last page or two of that thread because i update the the list and i can't edit the first post

how would u guys compare it to the powers or SI?
im not gonna bad mouth the other guys but i will say this mine is less expensive ,has the most tire clearance and i can usually ship the same day ..

every one that had one of the other brands and then got mine told me they liked the peg position better on my subcage then the others and there have been alot of people that switched

thats cool lukas every one has an oppinion no flaming needed

make one your self and be honest about how long it takes you then i think you will see that $175 is a good deal and as far as welding goes it's alot like sex it doesn't have to be pretty to be good but penetration is a must all the pictures of failed cages i have seen they alway break at the weld ,i tend to over do it so that doesn't happen it's ugly but it's strong and my welds penetrate...

you have to consider shipping also it cost me about $35 to ship most subcages because of the size of the box, when they only charged per pound they were like $12 to $15 but those days are gone

Re: OMR... got a question for yuh

true true.....but the cross bar does help stiffen it up a bit , it wont save it from breaking the subframe in a gorrilla scrape or any thing like that but it does make it stronger from side to side and thats usually how they bend on the r6

under noramal circumstances the welds worked for me like a champ... i dropped my bike about 20x since i had the cage but it hasnt budged ... my powers... has some nice welds but it did cost more...i waited 3 months..and the pegs dont fold up...i tried a side saddle clutch up and got a jackie chan leg sweep from my powers cause my leg didnt clear the peg..hurt like **** ...i did the same trick with the omr and forgot i had the pegs down and when it hit my leg it just folded ...no leg sweep:YEAH ... and the riding position help me out alot ... but again they both are very nice i just prefer the omr...and i always wait till i try both products before i say something..rather it is a cage or subcage whatever... i give omr a perfect 10 on function...and a 9.2 on the looks... i'll take function any day over looks...except in a car

Re: OMR... got a question for yuh

thanks bishop im a function over form guy myself and if i made the welds skinny and pretty i think they would be more likely to break like i have seen on many crash cages so i prefer to make them wide and deep and stronger, i admitt that they are not the prettiest welds but they are stronger as a result....

i have been welding since i was 16 or 17 years old and i will be 40 in april so i have alot of experience , if i was gonna hang my subcages on a wall i would make the welds pretty but they are designed to take the abuse of a rookie stunter and a pro stunter so i make them strong rather then pretty.....

Re: OMR... got a question for yuh

The welds are ugly as hell but it's rather have them a little ragged looking from 2' away then have a mount snap off in the middle of a rear peg ralph louie at highway speeds. No recovering from that ****, and it will be an ugly wreck.

Re: OMR... got a question for yuh

keep doin what your doin omr:YEAH

personally, i'd rather have a part that works, versus a part that looks good.
also, i think $175 is more than a fair price, considering the tube bending and welding involved, not to mention the r&d that goes into the product

the welds are fine by me... i really dont care...cause if you are looking that close up under my bike to inspect my weld... you might get a judo chop to the throat .... but keep up the good work bro... nothing in this world is perfect...but a 9.2 and a 10.0 is damn close and you can win a gold medal in the olmpics with a 9.7 average on a scale 10. ....

Re: OMR... got a question for yuh

I dunno you guys, My OMR cage looks pretty damn pretty. I did get it powder coated though but the welds were not that bad.

From experience with the Powers subcage and the OMR I must say OMR is overall better (IMO!!!). Im all about subcages not so much for saving the subframe but more for me because im 6'4 225 lbs (used to be 260lbs) and I dont trust those dinky stock pass. peg mounts at all.

I got a Powers on my 929 and its solid as a rock but its a lil to bulky and I have bmx pegs on it cuz the ones they give you are maybe 2" long. So now it sticks out about as far as my cage. Also it took about 2 months for me to get it (Im dealing with the same **** with my 12 bar for my f4i)

I got the OMR on my f4i and its perfect. Feels just as solid but not nearly as bulky as the Powers and with it powder coated and with some ESD pegs I will never look back. And the peg mount is rotated so the pegs wont fold on you. Im thinking about kissing the powers on my 929 goodbye and puttin a OMR on that bitch.

Im not bashing Powers (excepting there shipping) cuz they have been around and have good products, but for a subcage IMO OMR is sleeker, cheeper, has folding pegs, and is solid enough.

Ill add some pics of my subcages later for you to see.
