i don't really know a lot about aluminum strengths and ****. i just figured, if they were too strong....well you know. sound like a good deal to get some SL brothers hooked up with some quality stuff.
i got stockies right now, otherwise i'd take 2.

Re: replacement bars for clipons
I run 7/8" solid stock on my bike....was pretty cheap and just cut em to 13" or so and run em in almost touchin where the ignition is supposed to be on my 954 triple......lets me mount my handbrake inside next to the triple and puts my finger on the ball of the lever.
I can get the metal easy enough and cheap enough here......BUT if I couldnt I would be hitting you up cause the ones they ship out with the clipons are junk!

Re: replacement bars for clipons
I hear ya on that one.
Just sux when you are takin em because your actually hurt
Doesnt matter how thick the bars are they will still bend. Only thing i would be worried about is if they are too strong they would ovalize the hole in the bar mount. But its a good idea. I have a machine shop and im always tryin to think of **** to make. I designed some sprockets and stuff but the material for sprockets is way too expensive (at least aluminum is like $40 a piece for the good ****)
I was thinking steel and just powder coat it.

Re: replacement bars for clipons
why would you drill them out? theres no reason to lighten or weakn...
if you bend solid stock bars... an ruin your front end... you would ruin the front end either way... thats a hard hit...

Re: replacement bars for clipons
Buy DOM tubing or just leave em solid. DOM might be a little bit more but the hole is already there and all you have to do is cut them off to length. And then just face the ends off to look pretty.
Drilling through 12" would be too much work.
