Re: zx10r question
I got a chance to borrow one for about 3 months. Im getting one soon. 2004-2005 are straight monsters!! Create amazing torque as low as 3-4k rpm!!! Very light front end, will wheelie every gear!! Dry wieght comparable to f4i!! Amazing. I hated the mpg at first but if you cruise 4-6th gear you can get 30-40 mpg. Not a beginner bike and still must demand alot of respect. Best street bike 1000 IMHO. Also great for wheelies since pickup is sraight down like 636. Over fill 3/4 quart.

Re: zx10r question
I hear ya, but I think in the right hands it would be a good stunt bike. Crash it once too many times and it probably wouldnt be good. Frame sucks but the bike is super light and has a great front end. Great low end torque too.

Re: zx10r question
im sure it could be stunted. my friend has one and i have killed some street whoolies on it, but he wont let me take it in the lot. that bike has sick power, and damn is it light! i bet it will tank slap pretty easy though!

Re: zx10r question
Hell yeah!!
At first I rode with a GPR but my friend took it off. I was fine with it till I realized how scary it is without the GPR. 1st gear, took off from a stop sign aggressively to about 15-20mph, pop it in neutral, let go of clips ons to coast and put on my gloves, it began to headshake almost from stop to stop!! Very light in the front, which made me realize why its so easy to pull the front end up on this thing.
Another cool thing about the 04-05 is that its very comfortable. The 06-08 are tuned down and cramped as hell.

Re: zx10r question
Not good stunt bikes
I've got the 1st Gen '04. Wicked headshake on highway wheelies, ridiculous power curve, sometimes unpredictable power, no doubt; a beast.
If you're looking for a cruizer/track bike, the bike is nuts. Stunt bike, not so much.

Re: zx10r question
I already have a Z1000, I suppose like anything else it has pro's and cons. I still think I am going to get it just because the price is right and its close. Thanks on the input about head shake and frame cracking, I had honestly expected as much.
