those "vampire taps" suck *** and will eventually fail.... I DO NOT recommend using them.... i've seen them fail too many times on non-life threating applications.. so I would never use them in such an area!!!

This is what I use.... I don't think they're called "scotch locks" but they're the crimp connectors that have heat shrink tubing already on them..... just hit em w/ the heat gun till the glue comes out both ends.

They work very nicely and hold up long term exposed to weather.

Best place to disable kill switch is on the harness side of the bike.... find the 2 wires and splice em there..... less area of wire to have a failure.

For the key.... just cut it down so you can barely turn it w/ your fingers.

There's no need for a kill switch these days.... if you need to turn the bike off fast, just grab a strong handfull of HB.

****.... now that I think about it.... scotch locks ARE the "vampire taps", they're blue right w/ a spade type cutter that you push down to connect the wires yea?

I'm talkin about the actual color coded CRIMP connectors.... that come w/ heat shrink built onto them... they're like blue/yellow/red, ect. You have to use a crimper to connect them then put a heat or torch on em.

They're also made by 3m....

BUT MUCH stronger connection and corrosion protection.

I've seen too many fellow riders go over the front from a high speed stall..... never turns out good.

nah! kj we're talkin about the same thing made by 3M and yep i've got red, orange, blue and you smash down the round part to connect the wires and the round part is what is colored the rest is clear and inside the clear part is where the jelly stuff is weather were talkin bout the same thing or not these are badass and they are NOT the "vampire taps" and yes those do suck ***, just asking for corrosion and broken wires and bones
