Re: can cops take footage

Not for misdomeanor offenses or just traffic infractions. But if ANY Felony is being committed YES!

Not saying they won't try to do more but in most cases this is accurate!

Re: can cops take footage

I'm sure they can.

They can give you speeding ticket from cameras, don't see why they couldnt give you a wreckless/CNI..

Hell I hear in some citys, they even ticket people for running stop lights VIA a camera system that auto snaps pics when you run a red light..

Re: can cops take footage

In court... unless they have a clear shot of your licence plate, how are they going to prove that it's actually you?

Even if they have your plate.... how could they prove (w/out reasonable doubt) that it was you on the bike? Unless you don't wear a lid and they have your face?

I ALWAYS get a lawyer FIRST... say nothing at the scene... and go to court and fight it out till the end.

Usually costs a bit more than I'd like, but I have 0 criminal DTE convictions after MANY citations... but out thousands of dollars.

This is why I RARELY ride streets anymore.

Re: can cops take footage

They used to have these speed vans on the side of the road here in Hawaii. Where if you speed the van would take a pic of your car front and back and send you a ticket in the mail. Though they later killed that project...why? cause cops and state officials were getting tickets hahaha

Re: can cops take footage

The SunPass co will sell your time punches at tolls to the city/state if it's calculated that your average speed is too high from toll to toll you'll get a ticket in the mail.

and there's a newer technology called LPR(license plate reader) that's like a camera, but can be mounted anywhere, even on cop cars, that can scan and read multiple license plates at on time and much further than the eye can see or video/pictures can take. This product will probably be available first for major cities or highway patrol and/or limited patrol units in areas where speeding/fleeing occurs most.

That technology is called RFID - Radio Frequency Identification

if im not mistaken they can track your whereabouts too.

I know they deployed that in europe not sure if it's in every state here in America.

Technology is not always your friend.

I've seen that **** on tv. It's ******* bullshit. This country is turning into england with all these ******* cameras. The cops just drive around and the computer scans EVERY ******* plate and checks on them all. The more time that passes the more we get fucked. When I was younger I grabbed some legal books at my local smoke shop. They are cool because they are accurate and they cut to the chase. I learned a lot of **** from those books and they saved my *** more than once. Part of the reason my criminal record is clean is cause of those books. #1 always shut the **** up and say give me my lawyer.
