SI cage problem

so this is my first si cage, had a FI on it before but sold it on ebay and got a SI... but its like on the left side the cage is to short... it wont go far enough back so i can get a socket into the swingarm bolt to tighten it, i followed his direction from the site exactly... not tighting anything bla bla bla, but its just like the cage is to short or maybe theres a problem with the frame which i doubt but has anyone else had this problem? maybe the cage is flawed or am i ******* up somewhere?? ill upload pics in a min... when you look at it you can tell the long swingarm bolt isnt centered on the left part.. the right side is fine though

Re: SI cage problem

bad picture quality barley any light in my garage and it was hard to focus on where i was shootin that camera cuz the screen was dark, but on the second one... if you try and focus you can see that the nut is really close to the right side of the cage in the lil hole... and there is barley any room def. not enough for a socket

Re: SI cage problem

I believe the spacers go on that sides front motor mount, do you have that in? Do you got the bottom bolted in, if so unbolt it and try again. Motor mount bolts shouldn't be tight, just in enough to hold cage up.

I hate how tight that is to get a socket in...that bottom piece is a bitch to on SI cages.

Re: SI cage problem

ya make sure all bolts that are in so far, are only in 3-4 threads at most

And if htat doesn't work, bolt up each side, then bolt each side together

Re: SI cage problem

Lose fit the cage and tighten everything up after you get all the nuts started.
And the left side is the side the spacer go's on.
And no you should not have gotten a powers!
Iv rocked the SI on my 636 and gone down hard and stand behind it %100!

they are barley on, i have unbloted and rebolted it every way possible since 7:00 tonight when i got the dremel back to notch my fairings, its just not happening

cage is brand new got it off the si site, so unless it got bent in the delivery process... the box was beat to hell

good idea, ill probably just do that.. cuz i tried just tightin from the other side and it has enough room to spin so i cant tighten it, but not enough room for a socket so it was really pissin me off

Powers typically takes 2-8 weeks to ship...

I'm not completly sure, but I don't think they have good gorund clearance..

ONly 2 cages I'd recommend are SI, or tigershark... I've ran a SI, TONS of ground clearance, you can drag stock pegs befoer your SI cage hits!

Re: SI cage problem

just do what other dude say, stick screw driver in one side to wedge it, and use socket on the side. Thats what i did with my cage and 2 other of my boys cage, works fine.. just dont tighten it too much.
