Re: Safe to take the exhaust off?

mechanics is not an exact science moron you can have 2 exact bikes do the exact same things to them and will react diff to them. thats why i said earlier that its an overtime effect about the valves some might not have any problem some might expieriance total failure so pay attention next time

Re: Safe to take the exhaust off?

Ok we all know no exhaust can hurt bikes

But so can rev limiter, so can stunting, so can wrecking..

I'll agree, its not good for a motor.. But IMO its no worse then doing rev limiter tricks...

I wouldn't run no exhaust on a 08 bike that I want to last and can't afford a new motor for.. But I also wouldn't rev limiter or pancake a 08 bike I'm trying to keep mint!

On my 02 f4i, that I'll rev limiter, flip down the street, and beat to ****, When my exhaust fell off and lost my exhaust bracket, I said **** it and rode with no exhaust.

On a gixxer however I would probably have second thoughts of rev limiter or no exhaust

but on a honda, **** it, its a throwaway

Re: Safe to take the exhaust off?

Burnt valves suck
My car

But I'm not worried about them on a bike with at least full headers

nah b21a1 out of a prelude

hunk of **** motor lol... 'hondas flop' as people call it.. Has some 'ceramic coated' cylinder walls or somthing that eats ring

Oh well, 200k on the motor, poped a $50 used head on, and it runs fine again

edit: btw after driving my car on 3 cylinder, for over 4,000 miles and 6 months, and it starting up PERFECT everyday and driving fine, I LOVE hondas lol...
Thing was perfectly fine on 3 cylinders, then just slapped another head on it and its back on 4 cylinders running great
