After Market Fairings

I was just wondering if any of you guys and girls ever used those after market fairings that they sell on ebay, the ones made of plastic, fiber glass or the abs....let me know what you thought about it.

Re: After Market Fairings

yea the aftermarket fiberglass ones are mass produced and don't line up cus its some 8 year old boy doing it in a sweat shop ahah. But if you buy the ones with out predrilled holes like I did. I just drilled my own and it worked great.

umm I know fiberglass definatly arn't the best. but if you look on ebay they sell a full unpainted set for bikes for 300-330 shipped. so its dam good deal for what it is. also when buying fiberglass fairing you don't want rigid stiff ones cus if you crash once with them they shatter. you want more bendable ones.

i don't know much about it but thats just what I know from personal experiance.

I wouldn't waste your money on them. I only sell sharkskinz or Hotbodies because they are worth the money and mininal fab is needed. Most line right up

I agree. The shipping cost they charge are crazy. Hotbodies, a full race set is $60 to ship. I can get just the lowers even cheaper shipped.

yeah, but what you failed to mention along with everyone else who sells them is that if you plan on painting them, be prepared to spend lots of time (if youre painting them yourself) or money (if youre having someone else do it for you). you have to put so much ******* work into prepping those, by the time youre done you might as well have purchased the hong kong ones.

I got the ebay fiberglass kit on the R6. I would not buy them again. The holes did not line up and the fitment is horrible...

They sell full painted kits but they are expensive. I've only seen minor problems with fitment on Hotbodies. I agree the sharskinz fit better but for a primered set of fairing you're going to pay abit more then Hotbodies. Still the quality is much better than the hong Kong knockoffs in my opinion.

im assuming your talking about the glass fairings, they come in a two piece upper and lower and a one (upper and lower), that you have to remove your front wheel to install.

I took a look at the sharkskinz but the upper fair looked to be connected to the sides but i have a street fighter setup...i really just need two side fairing, so these ******** could stop makin fun of my bike.
