929/954 triples, then the forks, axle, spacers, wheel, fender, and alot of times calipers and rotars off MOST bikes with a 50mm fork tube diameter.......Then ur good to go.......Thanks to the author for showing what its like...I've been wondering if that would work, because ive always like the black fork tubes.....=-)

Oh and we're talking about the axle that runs from triple to triple through the frame bro......not the wheel axle

it's called the steering stem... it's not an "axle"

Re: f4i front end conversion

I have a 954 front with my clip ons on the top so apparently that is what, 3 inches lower than stock? Doesn't seem that much lower and I really don't see how it makes much of a difference, effortless to clutch it up to bp

Re: f4i front end conversion

Hmmm....I just bought a 1000rr front end, still need to get a top triple. Any mounting issues with it? The 1KRR has that damn HESD top mount damper stock, so I've gotta grind those off to fit the GPR. I don't want to run dirt bars, so I guess I'll be stuck with putting the clipons under the top triple?

well no not really,,, im just waiting for kj to answer if he changed his lower or not,,, if he didnt then all you need is a HOHEY top clamp,,,,,, and if not then you just have to get a 929/954 lower,,,,, but it looks like the 1000rr lower in the pic,, i just dont know if it like that on his bike,,,,,,

also with the HOHEY triple on it you just order a stabilizer for a f4i and it bolt right up,,,,, if you use the 1000rr top clamp(like i did) i had to grind down the the part of my GPR that fits in the resess in the center of the top triple,,as well as the mounting tabs on the stock top triple,,

YOU NEED A 929/954 LOWER TRIPLE !!!!

A 1000rr will not work, unless you use the stock 1000rr top triple.

Re: f4i front end conversion

+1 on the R1 front end. I've had it for a long time now and it's the ****. I just use the R1 triple with custom upper bearing. Super easy to replace fork seals too. Too bad about all the snow
