01 F4i 02 sensor

Where does the o2 sensor plug into on the bike? I was looking at my exhaust system because I just picked up a brand new f4i exhaust all stock, and noticed my exhaust (headers to the pipe thats cut down) has no o2, no electronic anything hooked up to it.
The stock one that I have has the sensor and wire right by where the pipe bolts to the header... but I don't know hwere that wire should plug into...

haha, did you by the pipe off ebay?

if u wanna hook up the CO2 censor, you need to find cali pipe....or drill and tap a hope in the mid-pipe for it.

and use the help-n-how to section nex time.

I don't think u understood my question. I'm saying that the way my exhaust is right now there is no censor. And all it is, is a stock exhaust cut down.

Now I have here sitting next to me a full stock f4i exhaust, and it has an 02 censor, wire and plug.

So I'm asking two things, is it bad that my exhaust the way it is now doesnt have a censor at all. And the extra exhaust I have now with the censor...where does the plug, plug into?

stock05 is infamous around these parts
Re: 01 F4i 02 sensor

you dont need that ****, but there is a square plug-in on the main harness, you can access it from the left side of the bike right above the stator cover.

why is that? ive ridden both and they are virtually the same, i think power difference is all in peoples heads. once you take the carbon canister and o2 sensor off you cant tell the difference.

Re: 01 F4i 02 sensor

So, here is a threadjack, I have an 06 with the o2 sensor and have been told is just leans it out on the highway and that is it, I left it for mileage but I hear everyone talking about pulling it off to get the power equal to the non-o2 sensor models, therefore it must be killing something off right? I am still breaking the bike in so not like I notice any difference now but I am getting a custom pcIII tune done in the spring for free and want it performing it's best at that point....opinions?

Re: 01 F4i 02 sensor

the idea of having an o2 sensor is to have a closed circuit fuel system... and it may be in my head but it my old 01 cali model and my new 06 are the smoothest f4i's i've ever owned.... the whole idea of an o2 sensor is to have fine tuned air/fuel adjustments correct i've had 4 f4i's 2 w/ the sensor and 2 w/o and the ones w/ the sensor felt better... thats the whole reason i bought an 06 this time around

This is ironic. I picked up an '01 stock pipe for my '03 and it didn't have a hole for the O2 sensor. From what I have gathered, the '01 F4i didn't have an o2 sensor so you should be okay to just throw a bolt in the threads and call her good. I have to drill my pipe and weld on a nut so I can add the o2.

OK ur wrong...this is a cali bike, they all have 02 sensors, my 01 had one, until a circle throw to exhaust ripping off the header and breaking rearset accident ripped it out...i stuffed the wires and kept ridding. my f4i always kinda chugged like it was dying tho so i dont really notice a diff, just gas the bitch and work it out

freeze u dont really need to do it tho, like stock said...but if u do its on the harness, the plug should look identical but female to the one the 02 sensor has....

search on here how to take charcoal canister off...

who buys a F4i for speed/power, why are you wasting your time?

I didn't see FreezeSBFreaks say anything about having a "Cali" bike. I can understand that it would have the o2 in '01 for that reason. Other than that, the other 49 state 2001 F4is didn't have the o2 sensor as far as I have learned. Thus that's why I ended up having a stock can that doesn't have threads for my '03 o2 sensor...just the opposite as he has going on
