Are Oil Pickups Necessary?

I heard of stuntex oil pickups. they keep the oil up in the engine when doing a wheelie i suppose so it doesnt **** up the engine. is this a necessay part to have for your stunt bike or can u go without it and just add more oil? If it will save your engine alot of miles then im gonna get it cuz i dont want to **** up my engine so let me know

Re: Are Oil Pickups Necessary?

suzuki's need them .

hondas and kawis just add a little extra oil ,yamahas could probably use one cause they seem to have the oil light come on on real slow wheelies..

Re: Are Oil Pickups Necessary?

like people say a MUST have for gixxers

For other bikes its just kinda if you wanna spend $100 on insurance...

I just got one in the lsat couple weeks, and glad I finally did it.. Only $100, and I know my motor will have oil in wheelies..

ya that makes no sense you crazy *** cracker.

first off.."coasters" are at idle meaning the engine with the clutch pulled in, so no, this will NOT blow ur **** up.

however, "rev-limiter coasters" mite be a diff. story.

Re: Are Oil Pickups Necessary?

Never had one on my F4i, never had a problem. Thinking about it though, just for piece of mind. But yeah, my brothers got a fixer and he needed one bad. Something about the stock oil pickup being in front of the pan.

We are working on a fix for the yamaha's 1 genartion will be simple and allow revlimter costers with out hurting anything. 2nd genaratin will all 360 degrees so you could do the same in a stoppie or anything.

If the dyno test real testing goes good they should be ready in a mounth or less. Then we move 636 and others.

Re: Are Oil Pickups Necessary?

some yamaha's have oil level light, not oil pressure. so if the oil goes low the light goes on, but there can still be pressure. but you cannot be sure as there is no oil pressure light.
