Definately hammer around the gas cap. On the 03-04 636's it's best to cut out the filler cap or else it'll bottom out way too easily. Just start from the cap, push it down and hammer on the backside of the cap, slowly working your way out and around symetrically.

 

this is prob the last project on the list for the stunbike.. snowbound and really bored .... curious to what i should do with the minty tank.. have some friends with skilz but just hate to crunch a fresh one!

 

I know what you mean, I was in the same boat. Didn't want to ruin the mint tank, I finally just bit the bullet. If you know somebody with experience let them help you out, try denting that bad tank first, if it turns out, then great, if not, you know what that means. But a minty tank is much easier to dent.

Yeah, go to Ebay search stunt headlight, you'll find some under that, and if you've got two minty tanks, what's the hard decision about? Dent one, save the other.

 

i dented my old 929 tank with both my knees droping a seat stander!

yea kinda sucked and i was pissed, but it was two years ago now so i dont care! i almost dumped it cause i came down so hard my face sheild hit the already cracked windscreen! I had the Frankenstine bike all stiched up!
