636 to F4i???????

Re: 636 to F4i???????
The F4i is an all around better bike, the 636 as a little more power and a stiffer suspension, but with a big sprocket you don't know the difference, and you can always put a 929/954 front end on the F4i to get the stiffer front end. F4i is the best stunt bike out there.

Re: 636 to F4i???????
I have never owned an F4i, so I don't know how much my opinion counts, but from riding other people's F4i's, I have noticed that they seem to deteriorate fairly quickly. They are tanks for sure and will keep going and going forever, but if you ride one a new one, and then ride a couple of different f4i's that have been stunted, they feel different to me.
I know that gsxr's are not a favorite around here, but it seems like no matter how beat down a gsxr is, it still feels like a gsxr to me.
I have recently gotten an 06 636 and love it so far. I am a FF guy and the bike came to me streetfighter, so I have not made a full opinion yet until I get an upper on it. But I really like it so far!

Re: 636 to F4i???????
I have a F4i and my roomate has a 06 636 the balance points are the same no harder on the 636 than the F4i the only diff. is the 636 seems to be a bit smoother and of course a sic *** front end.

Re: 636 to F4i???????
its PHYSICALLY impossible for them to have the same balance point being that the 636 motor is mounted at more of a angle where the f4i motor is mounted more upright.
just try it Half. many people i know that have switched from a 636 to a f4i get better. but MOST people i know that switch from a f4i to a 636 arent as good as they were on the f4i.
which brings us back to my point of being that the f4i is a easier bike to stunt.

Re: 636 to F4i???????
i did the switch from 03-04 636 to 01 f4i. i still have both.
im not sure if i like the f4i as much...
to me this is ho wi break it down:
636 PROS:
1. Great footwork. Make sure the tubes are tight and not leaking at the bottom or at the seals. The brakes are also very good stock and you can do a cheap big brake kit by puttin the 05-06 rotors on the 03-04 and space the calipers 10mm. Very cheap and effective.
2. Idles like a fuckign freight train when you run a factory pipe. if you constantly stall a 636 theres something wrong with you. these bigs chug at like 750 rpm. lol.
3. Easy Kleen air mod.
4. Tons more power than a f4i. about 10hp to be exact and a ton more TQ down low.
5. Part interchangability is incredible with the kawis. you can run stator and clutch covers from 98s (so you can get them cheap) because the basic motor design wasnt changed for 8 years. only stuff like FI, cams, Head porting, airbox design, headers...etc thei work for rear brake cylinders too. wheels, swingarms, to make it look sick as ****. oh yeah... basically almost anything from a 98-02 will fit a 03-04. and alot of 05-06 stuff fits 03-04.
6. Last but not Least... they look about 1,000,000 times better than a f4i anyday of the week.
636 cons.
1. Noisy motor. you always feel like its about to blow up because of alot of valvetrain noise kawis are known for.
2. Weak frame. Run a good cage and it'll do alot better but a FI cage or even race rails are a big NONO.
3. genrally a weak subframe... but its easy to stiffen up. Reinforce it before you ride it and it will be better.
4. Weak radiator tabs. have them welded along to edge and add zips for reinforcement. just like the f4i.
5. Parts arent as abundant for the 636. more so for the 03-04 than the 05-06. they sold alot less 03-04s than they did 05-06s.
f4i pros:
1. Parts are ****** everywhere. nuff said.
2. VERY strong bike. durability.
3. power delivery is easy to handle with big gears. 636 has more tq so its alot more touchy with big gears. this could be a good thing or a bad thing i guess it depends on how you look at it. and what your prefrernce is.
4. Parts are cheap cause there everywhere.
5. Motors are strong if you take care of them.
6. generally a very tame well balanced bike.
f4i cons.
1. its ugly. lol.
2. not the greatest fron footwork. 954/939 front end woudl be nice. or thicker fork fluid will make it better.
3. they are cheap to buy.
4. not the strongest idle ever.
5. radiators break.
6. need a MCCT
7. Tails break constantly from ss 0s. gotta reinforce it along with the subframe.
8. Have to do an idle cable mod.
i guess it depends on alot of things. i know im def keeping my 636. More than likely its going to be FF street killer stock gear clipons and a handbrake.
then a db bar'd big gear'd huge caged f4i for lot/tech stuff.
im not sure if i like the f4i as much...

Re: 636 to F4i???????
I have a question, I'm learning on a 99 zx6r and it's taken the beating. I have an 07 zx6r that I'm thinking of stunting. Stunt the 07, how do people like it other than Kane, or look for another beater thats FI, 636 or f4i??

Re: 636 to F4i???????
kane and king tony had their motor mounts break off and the motor fall out of the 07's
