Exhaust - How short is too short?
Hi.
Well, my friend works at a metal shop, so when he offered to help me with my exhaust, I jumped on the opportunity.
I looped in august, and in the process, I damaged the end of the can (road rash) and it partially dented the top of the exhaust at the mounting bracket.
So I looked at what I had to work with and got chopping.
When we started the can was 16" long. It's now 11". Took off 7". I kinda like how it looks, but was wondering, how short is too short?
Last thing I want is too loud of a pipe, and perhaps a problem with performance.
Here's the pics:
Soda bottle in the pic to help with scale:
And here's what it looks like mounted on the bike:
Good? Or too short?

Re: Exhaust - How short is too short?
I keep forgetting other people don't hang out in my garage all day...
So, it' just a mock-up atm. Tank isn't actually hooked up, and I'm still working on rerouting the electrical... wiring harness is being rewired.. battery isn't even in the bike atm.
Fired it up a few months ago before I started taking it all apart... haven't run it since. I'm still probably 2 months away from finishing. I still need to decide which tank I'm going to work on the dent with, and finish that too.
So will probably fire it up after I do the tank dent since I'll most likely be putting it on and off the bike a bunch.

The Federalies have the market covered when it comes to obnoxious pipes. Can you say Pep boys? Lol.
So length doesn't look to bad? I'm going to search for that super shorty can pic I came across once...

And ooh, Nasty... how long would you guess your can is?
