Re: 12 Bar Help

why dont you try puting it on or read the direction before you go posting on stuntlife about it....

oh and did you say gsxr...i would worry about reinforcing your frame and subframe before you worry about a 12 bar thats probably not guan get scraped lol

Re: 12 Bar Help

get a dremel tool

tape all your plastic before you begin cutting

and just bolt it on...

i beleive the subframes are cast, and don't think you drill that year...

but i could be wrong. what clamps did it come with?

that should be a good sign of what you have to do....

buy a new steel subframe from me, it comes with a 12 bar and the holes are already drilled in the right place. just bolt it on and go.

Re: 12 Bar Help

that looks like you have to drill holes and then it uses those "clamps"

Re: 12 Bar Help

yep... you have to drill and use their clamps unless the subframe has a preexisting hole or gap it lines up with.

if its cast first time you hit the 12 bar... better have another sub frame ready...

Welder? Wtf does that have to do with anything?

their bolts are crap? Lol, sounds like you over torqued them..

And I hate to say it, but it looks like its crooked lol.. It might not be though, but from the picture, the tail plastic is DEFINITELY at a different angle then your bar..

Re: 12 Bar Help

yea i hear u on the welder thing. i bought a little gasless MIG...i use it atleast twice a month...my life is def easier now...seriously.

and ur **** is def crooked, you might want to learn how to use a level & do some basic geometry to square things up before you get a welder or your gonna hate life.

Re: 12 Bar Help

In his defense about the crooked part, I have a FI flat bar on mine, and the subframes are so weak on them things that I can literally twist my bar with my hands and make it straight or crooked. I noticed mine looked a lil crooked after riding for a while a few crashes and so on.......so I grabbed onto it and twisted....'oila good as new. Glad I've only tapped it down once, or mine would be toast for sure!

If everyone was rich maybe then we could all buy new custom steel subframes.... in the meantime, just plate that bitch and do work.
