a little story ,take for what you want

Re: a little story ,take for what you want
winter of 1996 lost father and i hooked up with this gurl and started doing E. Wasted a whole summer partying and being with this dummy .My buddy grabbed me and helped me buy this bike , started riding (trick riding ) in 1998. just did it around my town with buddies .
Then hooked up with these guys(DTE) who shared what i loved to do . things happened very fast . i was very innocent to how people act . meaning alot of riders said they where friends and then tried to steal shows and talk **** .Peoples head swelled and i listened to my work and family to stop riding for 3 years . this was what i loved to do . i rode from 5 am till work at 7am then out till 3am . i weight 155 cause i wouldnt stop to eat and i stopped riding !!?
2 years ago i was in a coma for 3 days from a drinking stunt .
i woke up and bought 2 bikes and a fiddy . i couldnt even do a circle at the begining of summer . i begged teach to hang with me but because everyone left teach by the way side and we all forgot about our brotherhood in riding .
so i practiced by myself for a few months and then he said for me to come ride with him and zanman(alot of begging on my part). he saw that i was serious and we started to ride again just like the old days .i got circles ,hanbrake everything now and i am loving it
point!!??? you ask ??
1. house i owned =gone
2.girl=gone
3 job=gone
4 money =gone
your boys and riding still here . i see people talking so much **** on this site and i am surprised.this site was designed to help each other and make the sport better .so if someone needs me to help them at stuntwars i will help if i can . take these comps and have fun with it and help your fellow stuntrider out , cause its us (stuntriders) vs everyone not each other .
call me a wuss or a *** , just my 2 cents from an old stuntrider

Re: a little story ,take for what you want
back to the thread at hand...i'm tearing up right now.
the problem with sl is the problem with kids/computers these days...everyone forgets that everything they post up is public domain and can be read by anyone for a very long time...i deal with this in middle school mainly...probably why we see it so much on sl

Re: a little story ,take for what you want
Good post from Damien and nsane....
I remember the good ole days when riding was fun and thats all I wanted to do. I started out riding with at least 10 or so of my boys, furring my bike out and flying down the highway at 100mph with no clue on brake control. Slowly they all crashed or just quit for one reason or another and I kept riding. That was in 2001, now I may ride with a couple guys occasionally, but for the most part I only ride with Jr. I was always the one that would lend that helping hand and not act like an egotistical bastard, which lead me to get **** on the most. But oh well, I still love it. And after recently selling my bike (1 month ago) I am going crazy to ride, I realized that I can't just quit, I do love it! I will continue to ride, but I will have fun with it again even if it means not getting involved with the comps and BS. Jr. loves to compete and he is still young enough to do so, I will support that and help him in any way I can. But as for me I could care less about competing again, its no fun and way too much BS for me.
If you don't remember the days of that old carb bike shutting off and getting mousetrapped, you don't know!

Damien.... How bout a little trip down memory lane........
Back on 03/04 you were in LA for some movie or something. You came up North for a small competition. We got to chatting and I think you were making that move from DTE to C6. You may have mentioned a few things about Jhonny K.
I remember watching a rider at the comp do a "boston strangler" and sarcasticaly I said, did you see that "Cali-Strangler" You didnt seem to think that was too funny.. hahaa
and then there was that girl Tiffany who was jocking.... well apparently she flew in to Boston a few months later to help with your plumbing.
To the MAN who invented my favorite trick

Re: a little story ,take for what you want
+1 to your post. I'm a noob and just learning but I see what your talking about, a lot of ppl on here are internet gangsters. A lot of people dont help me try to learn either. A lot of local guys just blow me off when I ask for help. I taught myself how to wheelie (still getting better) and Im sure Im the one whos going to teach me everything else.
If your on two wheels , you have respect from me, no matter what bike , harley, buell, yama, whatever. Two wheels is something special and we should appreciate eachother.
*edit. A harley guy even bought me taco bell before because I was on my bike. Cool as ****!

Mr. Damien! skeewooop
good thread.
I see stuntlife as being an online version of what bikes nights used to mean for me.
back in 99-00 riding was my life as in i like 30-40,000 miles a year. not all stunts but lord knows i sure wheelied and wrecked a lot.
used to skip out of work early on fri and sat eves to get down to the wheelie spot and show off and have fun.
the bike night scene got old, but stuntlife was still there to talk trash on, have fun, and keep in touch with my friends.
its like a lot of us still do the same thing, but instead of skipping out of work early to get down to the wheelie road across town, we have to drive hundreds or thousands of miles to meet up other riders and do basically the same thing except not they call them "competitions" or "events"
either way, real life is real life, and stunting for many on this site, a way of life.
you dont always like all the people you meet in life, but you learn to deal with em.
If you need any help at stuntwars you know ill be there to do what i can, and I am sure that there are many there for me if needed, and for us all as a whole. dont remember the last time i saw anyone at a stunt event just get shot down on info or mechanic help.. tools.. etc whatever..
ive been to ccs races and i think stunting still has a stronger brotherhood than they, but we definitely like to talk more trash.. specially behind each others backs! lol...
teach's bike is only gonna come in 2 halves after it sits in the trailer next to my two girls making it feel bad and fall apart during the drive..
could be worse, apex's bike is stuck in the bed of the truck.. hopefully no ice storms on the way this year like in 06

Re: a little story ,take for what you want
Good thread Damien! Ive always looked up to all the OGs. Everyone is so quick to hate instead of giving advice or respect.
I remember when everyone hated on Kane for the pink paint. Now, he's a factory rider and living off of stunt riding. So, I guess the haters didnt get too far with that one.
I remember seeing UBSW with Teach and Zannman's section. Now, Teach is pretty much the top rider in the U.S.
I guess what Im trying to say is that everyone has to start somewhere. For the people on here that are so quick to bash people for being newbs, just remember that you were there once.

That is why I take the advise you and Tneck and Joe V have cause you were all at the same point I am, and it helps to hear sometimes that the pros were once mear mortals...
