Re: db bars

dude with db you will either need longer brake and throttle lines or route them under the gas tank. i suggest get longer throttle lines and steel braided brakes lines. you can also zip tie the speedo to the top of the db crossarm. the extra money is worth it because it has everything yoiu need. call hai and talk to them they will explain everything if you ask them to

Re: db bars

this is from there website:

Everything you need to change your bike over to a Dirt-Bar Setup. The taller wider stance of dirt-bars provides added leverage and stability for handling the bike while stunting, and provides a more upright body position for stoppies. Kit includes scary gary bars, renthal grips & glue, tag bar mounts, dual front brake lines and brake fittings. Available with gold or silver bars. Note: bar mounts will require drilling top clamp and may require a double banjo bolt if your bike uses a splitter. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

I just don’t understand why they are 184.99. I would like them to have a crossbar and be straight across instead of slanted back , I don’t know maybe I’m just analyzing to much I don’t know what to do

nooooooooooooo... you're just having a moment... its ok, i had like 2 months of them, i've got 3 gsxrs, 02-750/03-600/05-750, THEY ALL RUN WITHOUT GAUGES. as for your db kit, make your own, hais kit is so much(under $200) because its got parts pruven to work and has everything you need but the longer throttle cables. depending on how high you go and how you route it you can run the stock clutch/throttle/brake lines. hai includes the brake line cus often with riser kits yours wont work. as for making your own, get a riser+bar combo you like, measure twice drill once for your top clamp. so u need risers+hardware, bar, grips, adhesive and the pride that you did it yourself even though you did it you still hate it... but you did it, then u get to spend the time and moolah figuring out which brake line n throttle cables to get sure u may still be under $100.... maybe, but you've spent hours searching for and maybe days waiting on the parts you need

ps: dont forget the drill bits, start small and work your way up in hole size

The only thing is I can get the bars for 20.00 bucks and the risers for 20.00, grips are 12.00 so why the hell is that kit 184.99 I don’t get it. what the **** ? Wont my Brake lines work ?

HELP
if you already have a dual line setup, most lines run 26 and 28 inches. you may get away with using the 28 incher for the short one (doing the conversion) but you will need a 30inch for the longer one.

Re: db bars

The bars just look wierd in the pic. once on your bike they don't look wierd. You want that little bend anyways. Both of the bikes I posted have the bars angled back. 99% of the SF running DB bars are going to have the angle.
Trust me it's for a good reason.

Here's how to decide, go to a motorcycle dealership and look at all the DB bars.
I don't know what kind of bars you're looking at for $20 My Renthals alone cost $75
HAI set-up is a excellent set-up and price.

Your brake lines won't work cause you are raising your bars atleast 6"inches higher than stock.

... i don't, just done a few installs. pro taber bars are comfy as hell. my friend had 'em on his 954 n we'd trade bikes now n then, i loved it cus it felt like a hinda davidson, i'd sit back in the seat, lean up to grab the bars n put my feet up on the cage like a harley.
