Master of disaster

Well, because I've done wrong in my life karma catches up to me at will. For example. I manage to find the worlds best super deal. I picked up an 04 636 with 2,500 miles on it for 2,200. Just because it's fun to toss a man on the ground before you kick him, I loved this bike. The motor was perfect, ran like a dream. Until I highsided a tank circle and found yet another loophole in physics. I blew the cam chain tensioner out the block and took some of the head with it. Few hours later the motor for next years contest bike is in this frame, the one I was going to sell the day I broke the motor. So I'll swap on a new head and pray that I don't anger the Kawasaki gods again. Pics for reference to what you never want to have happen to you.

Haha I think it was 1 in 349038420 that something such as that can happen. But I'll toss one in carry on just in case!

Nick did you lose the cam chain? It looks like it's still on the motor intact... have you spun it over to see if theres any contact?

glad you got that **** fixed, that was a hella freak accident.

The chain is just fine but I do think something skipped a beat because its super tight. I'm going to pull the head tomorrow night at the shop and see how the bottom end looks. Such a shame, that motor was a beast. Has anyone else kicked a tensioner out of a head? There wasn't contact with that part of the motor or anything that would suggest this should ever happen. I think there must have been a factory defect, it wasn't that hard of a crash, not light, but FAR from head fracturing hard.

Well one side of that chain should be tight, but i dont think the side that the tensioner is on. (slackside IIRC)

otherwise it had to have just been the shock of the crash on a weak casting. that **** was nuts!

We're hittin VV tomorrow round noon. mount up!

Do you have T-Mobile, I have a sidekick2 I'll give you. If so PM or myspace your address and I'll send it out asap.

And the honda comments....
First thing I thought was man my old F4i would have never done this, then as I pushed my 636 up into my truck I thought about how I would rather push that ***** into the shop, swap a motor that night, spend the cash, replace a head, install a new motor, break knuckles, bleed out 2 pints of blood, than EVER ride an F4i again! They're good bikes, but we're not on speaking terms these days.
