Re: can i sand my headlight?

if they are minor scratches use toothpaste with a lil grit in it. works well on plastic materials. Good luck

Re: can i sand my headlight?

you can sand it, but you have to use a buffer the get the sand scratches out and when using the buffer you must be really carefull not to burn the plastic. if you dont know what youre doing its probably best left alone.

Re: can i sand my headlight?

Wetsand using 600 or 800 just around the scratches until they come out. Use progressively higher paper, wetsanding, and finish with 2000 grit. The scratches will come out. Finish with Scratch-X or, even better, Plexus...the headlight will be better than new.

if your hand polishing then use 2000 if youre going to use a buffer 800 and a touch of compound with be fine.

Re: can i sand my headlight?

my dealership has a headlight polishing service, they hit it with with i think 220, 400 600 1000 1500 2000, and then rough 3m rubbing compound and then fine 3m polish, and then a fine polish,
they say be careful with the wheel it can burn the plastic

Re: can i sand my headlight?

Looks like your going to need to take it down to a smooth surface with 220 then progress back to a polish. just take your time and it'll be nice
