One of my friends that all the local stunters/riders have looked up to for years was shot and killed this last weekend. He was the true OG up here in my neck of the woods, been rockin endless highway wheelies since the late 90's. Him and I were just starting to plan practice days so we could do shows soon at our local fairgrounds. I had planned on getting an F4i at the end of next summer, but am now thinking that I'ld like to continue the "legacy" of my friend, and take over his 954 as my next stunt piece. What would you do?

I would say do it.

My closest friend was killed last year and his bike was stolen hours before his death, he hadn't even reported it yet. Well, 5 months later some crack head is trying to sell a wrecked bike with no title that sounds like his (had RC-51 wheels on it, sort of a rare mod) and one of our buddies snagged it cheap. Kind of a ballsy move, he wasn't even 100% sure at the time if it was really his bike. His gf still had the title, check it against the title-less bike and sure enough, SAME ONE. We've spent the last 7 months or so ebaying it back together. It still needs a front wheel and some other things, but it's cool to have his bike around.

 

The 954 will definately be a huge step up from the fizzer. I'm sure he'd want to see that thing keep on stunnin and not go to a kneedragger.

i'm sorry to hear about your boy, but i would most. def. carry on his legacy and kill the streets with his bike. i obviously didn't know the guy, but i'm willing to bet he'd rather see his boy rockin 1 down the highway on his bike than see it sit in the garage or even worse get sold to some clown who can't do it justice.

Thanks everyone. My boy was a total street killer, he had actually just got his license back a few months ago after a 1 year suspension. The cops wouldn't even chase him anymore, they'ld just go to his house. Small towns suck like that. Anyway........I think I like the idea of keeping it a street murderin machine, my boy abused it, but I'll bring it back to life. It'll probably be a while, these things take time to sort out. my best friend in college was murdered. i was building my mustang up, and he always asked me to 'redo' his '57 bel air when i was done with my car. unfortunately i never finished mine before he passed - but i promised him i would get that car done. Its been 3 years, but i still can't bring myself to ask his family for his car...

 

I can understand. A car is a piece of machinery that could be restored and driven by his mother/father, brother/sister. No one in my bro's family rides, or had much interest in his riding. I think I'm probably one of the only people around that is really interested in keeping his bike "alive". You should have a mellow talk w/ your boy's family, and just feel them out w/ your ideas. I'm sure they'll listen.

 

Maybe do some sort of "tribute" of him on any plastics on the bike...
