Flippin the Triple.. 03-04 kawi

Okay so I need more room for my long leg short arm self. lol Got em turned out and flipped now and still not enough. I know flippin the triple leave a little more space on top to put the clipons with out having to drop the forks much.
Looks like I'll have to shave the piece that holds the ignition that'll be sticking strait up and re position the ignition wherever.

Just wana make sure of any other small details in doing it before I get carried away. Anyone who's done it that has some input on how to or pro's and con's the info would be appreciated!

That's exactly what I did. Except the triple ended up snapping in three pieces. Worked well untill then though, if you want to run a damper you just have to do a little grinding on top there too to make it all flush.

You can see how close the fender is to the lower triple clamp, and the suspension is not even fully compressed.

Does flipping the tripple leave enough meat on the fork to cover the clipon or did u have to drop the forks a bit? I know I seen some where the clipon wasn't really all the way dn on the fork on various bikes. Just kinda wana kno what's safe with my stock clipons.

I don't recall having to drop the forks at all. I did drop the forks and leave the triple right side up though and had about 1/4 or so of the clip on hanging over the edge, they never came off, if I crashed hard enough it would twist it back and i'd have to get the allen key out and straighten it.

the only thing pulling the tubes up obviously lowers the bike, though you didn't do it much, I'd rather have a bit more meat on there to clamp to. Also run FF and heard of the bottom of the upper and front fender hitting in endos, while changing the bp of the endo, not that it matters too much but I'd rather keep it stock as possiable with the ride hight.

Re: Flippin the Triple.. 03-04 kawi

Dont do it.... I ran it on my FF bike. Flip Trip, with flipped stock clip ons.... Its much better with a FF to have the clip ons flipped, leave the trip alone.

You can push out the clipons further if you dont flip your trip on FF

right I have em flipped and turned out to the max now. Maybe I can move my levers and get a little more. I did notice if there on top they would be possibally hitting the corner of my upper.. Got it cut dn just before the mirror holes. *** I don't know what to do.. I can streatch a little more but I'm pretty flexable now, been doin ham and hip streatching exercises for about the last 2 mo.

i run mine like this and i put my ignition down on top of my rear shock, this ensures that you wont ever kick your key off......works great my friends!!
