Re: ? on stunt customizing
You can buy just a sprocket and if you have any alike spare 525 chain layin around(like 7-10 links to be safe) you can get two new master links for your chain (make sure they all match up!!) for like $20. and add those links to your stock sized chain, use the stock countershaft sprocket and avoid spending money on a new chain or a new front sprocket..... you got to take a bunch of **** off anyhow to get to that thing on our bikes.
Turning the idle screw will turn up the RPM's for slow RB wheelies. I need to find a longer one off an old 900RR or somin and relocate mine somewhere better, since the idle adjustment screws are short and awkward to reach on our bikes also.
Good luck findin a spot to dream about practicing in when it thaws out up there! LOL
OH, and just brace up your subframe well, and leave that scrape bar on. You'll be fine.... It will break eventually, get over that right now if your'e gonna stunt this bike for sure! I want to take it a step further tho, and get a subframe cage to close any remaining doubts I may or may not have!
Have you done the tilt sensor fix yet? How bout a MSR raptor or ez-pull clutch perch? I'd put some longish axle sliders on the back, or at least that is what I did to save rearsets and rearset tabs.

come on guys. when i think im gettin great advice sombody gotta throw teh asshat squid comment out there. wtf
i aint got any extra anything. so should i possibly b thinking about a hole kit, or just buy extra links?
thanks for info on the idle screw.
yeah i got an xtra 12 bar for when it does fall off. wich i assume is gonna suck. figuring ill b on my face. does all that extra weight from the cage, 12 and sub add any resistance from pulling it up? any lil suprises i should be expecting?
o **** i didnt even think about the sensor. thanks for reminding me. i have no idea what msr raptor or ez-pull clutch perches r. r they necessary?
sliders on the subframe wouldnt b good enough for the tail?
another squid question. ive seen this asked many many times but i see crazy different answers. whats better for wheelie, gasen or clutch? i cant seem to gas mine, so i clutch, but so scetchy. does clutching do any long term damage to the bike? if so is there a way i could prevent it?
thanks for d assistance.

Re: ? on stunt customizing
dont u need more throttle control for larger sprockets? and all u really need to get started is a strong cage and a good helmet and gear, just build up from there as you progress. thats jus my humble opinion

Don't sweat that dude. Some people on this site(not saying that is his deal) but some people get mad when newbies come on posting up questions that have ben covered before. I think alot of it comes from them having to work hard to find out all the info on their own......without help when they were starting. Plus we all are a lil grumpy this time of year from not riding as much, if any at all!!!
I thought, from what lil I did read of this, you said that you had no one around to ask locally for help. That sucks. This is a good site so don't let the BS discourage you any!
Extra 12 bar?? I was talkin about your subframe breaking not your scrape bar! hahaha Your scrape bar will long out live that shitty subframe that came with your/my bike by far!!
I asked about the Ez-pull clutch mod to see how much you have already done/know, and I asked about the tilt-sensor to see if you are at the level where that was needed yet.....
Maybe I shouldv'e read this entire thread before posting, but since you had questions about setting your 06 gixxer 600 up to stunt, and that is what I have too...thought I'd try and help you out some since we all seem to be dining in the Hater cafe here lateley.
The MSR Raptor is a clutch perch and lever that reduces the felt "pull" of your clutch lever... it makes it easier for one finger modulation..... a must have mod, or at least do the clutch actuating arm mod., if you don't buy the ez-pull.
If you are just starting out I think you should stick with a less drastic change from stock(-1 in front +3 in rear). That is unless you are at the point where you are starting to use your RB to slow them down some, and/or clutching them up from at, or near, a dead stop also.
You prolly wouldn't even need to buy a new chain then. They are only like $100. but I did all my lot gearing (sprocket included) for like $60. But I get alot of help from local shop(free parts) and won the new GSP 60 tooth I run on ebay for $40. If you have no prior knowledge of changing a chain, or don't have a chain riviting tool, then you wouldn't actually be able to do your gearing on your own as it is, let alone add some links! Not sure if you knew that or not.
After you install big sprockets on your bike, you will more than likely reduce your street time to trailer time, cuz they are no fun on the street anymore after that. Since you don't even have a spot yet, you may wanna focus on **** like a cage, and other more basic stuff that isn't gonna make your bike useless on the road quite yet. Just somin to think about.
The added weight of these things doesn't matter at all, and no the axle sliders aren't enough for the tail. Especially on this bike!! Saves your swingarm. Plus when I put them on my bike, my rearsets/pegs don't even touch the ground when it lays over anymore. I still need to put some up front. I used some Harriss Racing frame sliders off my RSV Mille for the rear axle tho, so they are bigger than just regular axle sliders.
Clutch up your wheelies always!! You shouldn't go through clutches too bad if you do it right, but it ain't gonna be good on it. LOL
Of course, being new you will prolly smoke your clutch, steering head bearing and fork seals from learning. No big deal.... just watch those things and be ready to replace them after a while. If you want to prevent any long-term damage to your bike, or premature wear of wear items like clutch and tires and brake pads...ect....it's very easy.......... DO NOT STUNT..PERIOD.
And I'm not the final word on any of this **** either, I'm no professional......NO actual pro, or self-proclaimed pro, like you will find both posting on here. I didn't ever claim to be the ****, but I don't believe my advice to be wrong either. Good luck!

Re: ? on stunt customizing
Your bike always looks good Kah7... killin it as usual..
I want DB bars now too..... not liking the clip-ons after all......I did have DB bars on my 900RR before so it makes sense.
I prolly don't "need" them, but I would like them tho........ subframe cage looks good too....prolly don't "need" it tho do ya??..... I know for a fact I don't "need" a two-bro's slip on, but damn I want one of those too.
see my point? I personally hate trying to cram my fist in there and adjust my idle while rollin around it's a pain in the ***!! I don't know how you do it! LOL .... I'm prolly just not used to it enough yet to do it without stoppin the damn bike now I guess? I see alot of other people runnin different adjuster screws tho for the same reason..... necessary?? .....prolly not, but neither is a HB and oversized sprockets I have heard too.

Yeah, aint gonna happen . naw i was just curious cuz some ppl tell me it dont do **** other ppl tell me it ruinins everything.

Re: ? on stunt customizing
yea you def need a bigger sprocket to rock endos for sure!
I could only do ten foot endos and then when I got a sprocket I can roll like 1100ft ones with Bill D all the time!!!

+1 on all the ppl who said practice with the stock gearing. learn to hit bp with that first..even though it may be a tad faster. and the 12 bar wont help much. get a subframe cage incase you loop it ... try not too thought
and its possible to do O's stock..but you gotta have some skills for that!
