Vortex cap problems.

Alright, so I am having a huge problem of fuel coming out the fuel cap. during stoppies, 12 position, and when it lays on it side it pours out from under the edge of the cap. This only happens while the bike is running. I can take the tank off and hold it upside down and it holds fuel perfect. I'm thinking it's a simple problem that the cap has no way to vent the pressure inside the tank and it is pushing the rubber seal up and letting fuel out. because it has done this to three different gas tanks I have tried to use the cap on. Has anybody had similar problems? And who is able to run what gas cap with no leaks.

Re: Vortex cap problems.

Dent job is good. Dented it with the cap bolted on, the seal is perfect. I'm assuming the cap stock05 is referring to is the harris performance one. Anybody else using what? How about the stock cap.

Sounds shady.

Harris performance quick release race cap, I'll have to give it a shot, pawn off this vortex to a local kneedragger or somethin.

Re: Vortex cap problems.

there is a little set screw that you can take out and it allows the pressure to bleed off through the overflow ....
