Re: F4i front end feels like a damn pogo stick

f4i forks will pogo like a **** at the stock settings. I cranked all the setting to high and it was alot better but still had a noticable bounce. then I add 15w fluid and its 10x's better and only set at med-soft.

I weigh 260, so this prolly aint the best setup for all you skinny *******!

but yeah... im 150 and i cranked the settings and i guess it did help. ill have one of techs put the 15w oil in it soon. think that may be the key.

vetter, this is da Liks here. you need to do a lil maintenance/work on your forks. make sure everything is good and tight, and replace the stock oil with `15w. mess a lil with the settings (comp reasonably soft, rebound hard) and you will feel a huge difference! i was able to roll 300ft easy on my stockers..

Danger_Dave can only hope to improve
Re: F4i front end feels like a damn pogo stick

matt gorka ran a thread on this awhile ago. stock forks are fine for stoppies, but you just have to modify it for your liking. 954/ 1000rr front ends are heavier duty and stoppie better, but it has nothing to do with the inversion of the fork tubes. with f4is u just gotta beef em up. i'm gonna be getting new springs and fluid here pretty soon.

I gotta watch that vid again, I didnt even think I was in it! Of course I was a lil smashed at the premiere and finally just found the damn dvd a while ago.

the fluid will help...the stock springs are prolly close enough to what you need for ur skinny lil ***! 150 lbs....pfft, bet you got combos dont you? try weighing 260....only combos are at Wendys!

Re: F4i front end feels like a damn pogo stick

the internal valving setup on those are too light. you need to adjust to a stiffer damping compression and rebound. race tech gold valves work nicely, or you can just cheat and run some heavier weight oil in them for the time being and that should help. at your body weight you should'nt need too much change.

don't crank the preloads all the way down though, you might want to tighten them, but if you bottom them out then the forks will ride too high in the stroke for your body weight and it will cause a negative effect.

so where you been man??
