yea hes right , tig would be the best if you can do it its somthin you have to learn cant just do it like stick , learn to tig and you might have a chance also you would need a bender more than likely , if you think you can go for see how turns out

Re: need cage welding info
you could do with mig also but tig you will have more control and tig will make cleaner welds , also you probably be using in between .080 wall and .125 =1/8 wall depending on what type of material like chrome olly you can use a thinner wall

Re: need cage welding info
The easiest weldin for someone who doesnt know how to weld is a mig machine but when you get into bending your cold roll or pipe or whatever you decide to go with you gotta have your **** together or your gonna waste your money its pretty tricky to bend **** and get it right if you have never done it before

PODIZZLE, what did you mean i'm gonna waste my money?
p.s. and what about a arc welder, i know thats the oldest one but no one mentioned it so i'm guessing it's weak?

Well cause if you go to make your bends its pretty tricky and if your bend comes out wrong your material that you bent is no good anymore you cant really unbend iv been fabbing stuff since i was a young one in my dads shop and bending tubing is still pretty tricky for me.....Arc welder is good if you know how to weld with one but it takes more skill than a mig to make your welds look good and also penetrate i would suggest you use a mig it will more than likely come out alot cleaner for ya

Re: need cage welding info
mig is your best bet for clean welds, good penetration and its pretty much idiot proof
have to agree with podizzle,if you don't know what your doing with the bending then you could very well end up screwing yourself out of a lot of money by going through material.
good luck though if you're still gonna give it a shot, would love to see how it turns out

Re: need cage welding info
it's also good for used equiptment because it will burn through rust and crap and a mig or tig needs a nice fresh clean surface to work correctly..
