Re: motor swap 06 636

get the new motor up close to where its supposed to be with a jack... make sure the wiring harness is on top, otherwise its a bitch to fish it through later...

get the bottom rear motor mount in... then the motor will jack right into place...

also, dont overtighten the two spacers that go from the frame to the motor (at the two top motor mounts) that space the motor over to the left to get it aligned in the chassis right... well, dont overtighten those... that is why some guys end up cracking their top right motor mount... too much stress on that mount if you over tighten that spacer...

uhmm, besides that take you time, have a friend help with lining everything up...

im sure more people will post up advice... ive done it enough times now that when i do it im on auto pilot so im sure im forgeting something...

Re: motor swap 06 636

use the rafters in your garage and hang the bike with tie-straps then lower the motor onto a jackmove it out the way and put the new one under then drop the frame on top. this is the easiest way that i have found, i can swap a motor by myself in just under a hour.

HAHAHAHAHA... thanks...

would love to help but im way to busy to even work on my own bike right now... i broke both right rearset mounting tabs off over a week ago and still havent touched it... so ill be doing a frame swap (or at least taking my frame off so it can be welded correctly) sometime soon!!!
