Re: crf230?

150r's need rebuilt CONSTANTLY honda recommends you rebuild the top end every 20-30 hours, I hear MANY people talking about replacing the valves every 10-20 hours!

Of course thats from people running them hard, but when I stunt, I run my **** REAL hard.. holding rev limiter all the time

The 150f however is BULLET PROOF.. I have well over 200 hours on mine, I've held rev limiter on burnouts for over 30 seconds on many occasions, all I do is change the oil, and I just adjusted the valves for the first time recently (30 minute job)

The 150r is WAY lighter though, lots less weight lots more power..

Whereas the 150f is a big heavy turd.. Not much power, weighs a hell of a lot more then it should.. But that just helps to make it bullet proof

I got the 150f as a play bike, I had a $3,000 honda card and had my 50 paid off so I juts went and picked this thing up.

The 150r is a race bike, BUT its a race bike for kids.. Still not gonna perform THAT great with a 150+ pound oversized rider on it.. If you wanna race, get a 250+
But for a 100-120 pound rider, the 150r is a rocket

Towliee....

Your completly right...but if you look at all Honda or any of the mayor manufactuer's specs they all say rebuild the motor every 20-30 hours on any race bike...I think on my 03 YZ125 it was 15-25 hours replace the piston...I didnt but thats what it said to do...

the 150R is supposed to replace the 80 two strokes...and it just might if the AMA figures out the ruling on letting it race in the 80 class...

the non-race versions of any bike will not fade near as fast as a race bike so long term ease of working the 150f is better but if you are a racer you are working on your stuff all the time any way so a person would want the more performance and less longevity

ya BUT the 150r's are known for needing rebuilt in 10-20 hours..

Sure like a 450r or something, you MAY need to rebuild in 20-30 hours.. But I hear of many people running them 200+ hours just fine..

Whereas i've heard MANY storys of 150r's blowing up REAL fast..

I personally wouldn't want one. Considering its only a 150r, and im a 145 pound person, im probably gonna be running it to its max constantly and blowing it up.. Whereas you could baby a 450, and never blow it up yet be just as fast

my

yup...and if you put a 160 lb rider on a bike built for a 100 lb rider its going to be tough...and the 150R's are just like the honda CRF250R's in the fact that they do need valve adjustments about every 10 hours

And also note the 150R is a totally new bike not based off of anything other than its older brothers (the CRF250s and 450s) so new models always have flaws and the honda race bikes are not known for their great top ends....get a yamaha if you want that!
