I'm thinking about selling my truck and getting something thats easier to transport my bike around. I was thinking of a pickup but I think I remember someone on here that uses a minivan and keeps his bike in the back. Does anyone have any pics of that and is it a pain in the ars to get the bike in and out? I'm tired of having to load and unload the **** every day. I'd rather just leave the bike in the back overnight and pretty much have it wherever I go in case I wanna ride. The pickup I'd still have to load and unload which sucks. This ones not mine but this is what I have now.

 

i use a little trailer so i just roll it in the garage and leave it on the trailer ,it's pretty quick and easy

 

only thing easier than a truck is a bagged/lowered truck, youre always going to have to unload there is no way around it.

everywhere but here....i fractured and dislocated some bones in my foot and my bike has been apart....plus it's 20 degrees out so i just sit in my room and cry all day.

 

I live in Queens so I cant leave the bike outside over night without **** getting stolen so I figured with the minivan I can keep it in there overnight and have some limo tinted windows so no one sees the ****. The truck carrier I got is cool but its a pain in the *** to load and unload only because I got a nice truck that I dont want to beat on. I dont mind loading and unloading at the spot but to come home and spend another 20 minutes doing it every night and then the same thing every morning in the freezing weather sucks ***.

 

I was thinking about the trailer but I dont have room to park the **** anywhere. Cant park it outside because the civic association where I live complains about commercial vehicles and trailers. Retarted.

 

Thats what I'm talking about - how easy is it to get the bike in and out though? And what do you strap it down to? I see you got straps going out the back?

 

ouch that sucks! i havent had a bike since april, but im well on my way to getting another one. i used to sit in my room and cry all day too, but i got the internet again, so now i spend my days off squid squashing to make me feel better about myself, you should try it. rofl

then go with the astro they are low to the ground and give you plenty of room for gear and other ****. if you can try to get a panel because it doesnt have all the seat belts and other **** in the back to get in your way, i had one and it was sweet.

What do you mean by a panel?

 

That is a friend who actually took his and his buddies bike to track days last year that way, just a hide a hitch under their they have it strapped to. I have another friend with a honda element with the seats up there are actually strap down points on the inside to strap to, and it looks pimp!

You could always find a cheap used cargo van, put a wheel chock in the bottom, and install some tie down points, I will see if my buddy has more info how he does his minivan, easy to load.....

Whats the size of a small trailer that can hold one bike? And with a trailer I know you got to register it but does it jack up your insurance costs too or need seperate insurance?

 

they make bike trailers that are only 4 feet wide. Doesnt effect your insurance, and doesnt need to be insured in ny.
