question about SI cages.

Re: question about SI cages.
I roll commando so panties are fine. Nothing has been takin personal. We do not offer a full lifetime warranty on cages due to the nature of the sport. We look back at the purchase date and if we think it prematurely wore out so to speak, then we replace it. It also depends on the situation as well. Yes we are addressing the installation concerns and we are also offering the cages in chromoly as well. Granted the cost is higher. Either way, you are entitled to your opinion. Let me know if you need anyhting. Ian

Re: question about SI cages.
They use some specialty bolt for the motor mounts
I ended up drilling mine out and nutting/bolting cause I didn't wanna wait for SI to send some out

Re: question about SI cages.
i love my si cage, my only problem is my missing 14 mm socket. its not really lost just stuck. i didnt really have any problem installing after i bought some hex head sockets(which id been wanting for a while anyway)...btw, ive heard that the part at the bottom where the two sides come together is better if they arent connected, is this true?

No. Thats where the cage gets its strength. Granted i looped a rev coaster on my f4i last year and I forgot to tighten my cage up all the way. , but it held up perfect. I would still keep it tight though.

Re: question about SI cages.
For anyone that has SI cages and a problem with sticking sockets: If you tighten the cage down to a good torque and then tap the ratchet counter-clockwise (loosen) and wiggle the extension/socket as you pull out, you should be able to get your socket back. I have put on/taken off my cage a few times without any problems.

SI is by far the best that ive rode with......and if ur sockets are stickin you can just pull a BORNE and just leave a socket in each tube then all you need is an extention.....
