dude do like a i told you... i was in ur shoes once! i went +14 right off the bat thinkin it would make me better faster... and it doesnt! yeah engine brake is a great thing but ultimately rear brake is what saves your ***. and learnin rear brake is a 10x harder to learn when you're sprocketed... also being stock will help you learn better throttle control. stop listening to all these goons tellin u to go big right off the bat... yeah big sprockets are a LOVELY thing.... but only if you're ready for em.
as far as havin flipped and turned out clipons... it basically gives you more leverage and comfort for when you are wheeling
heres a few tips for learning rear brake. first one is make sure u have on some gear.... LEARN TRUE BALANCE POINT!!! if you are still accelerating(rpms still getting higher) you are not at balance point... once you learn that. practice rolling balance point and SLOWLY bring it back a little further keeping STEADY on the throttle... and instead of letting off the gas make yourself gently tap the rear brake to pull it back to balance point... keep practicing once you feel comfortable doing that work on bringing it further back and putting gentle smooth pressure on the brake to slow it down.... once you can do both of these things w/o thinking about it THEN my friend you are ready for big sprockets!!!!
