i want to buy a rear handbrake kit for my boyfriend as a christmas present, unfortunately all the complete ones i've been seeing would run me around 300 dollars and i cant afford that. any suggestions on cheap places to look for a rear handbrake?? please help!!!!!!!

If you want something good, you'll have to spend the money. You could get him a few parts that will lead up to a good setup...or maybe find used parts.

unfortunately... that is what you're going to have to pony up. A rear handbrake setup consists of the rear master or adapter, a brake line, and a quality front master. When it comes to a handbrake, you definately do not want to skimp when it comes to which front master you run... it's way too easy to eat **** and break yourself when running a cheap setup.

get him an adapter and line from full throttle inc (their website is below this post in my sig)... that's less than 100 or so, cant trmrmber exacly how much

then let him pick up a used master on ebay or here... cause that is a personal preference thing...

I'd check out "hai" there one of the site sponsors. they sell the adapter and the brake line. that runs like a hundred bucks i think. so i'd buy that and have him find the master cylinder of his choice, some grab stronger than others so he can make the decision.

and tell him to buy the rest himself. either a fullthrottle kit for another $120, or a hohey caliper for another $200 + line + caliper.

so it's get the master for $220
or
get the adaptor for $120

thats the hand brake i use and it will cost roughly around 100 bucks for everything

If you dont want your boyfriend to kill himself then I recommend paying the $300. I did so much research on this when I set mine up and every finger pointed towards a brembo for me. The rear brake it a tool we all rely on big time in stunting. Its a big life saver so in my opinion I would go with whats best not with whats cheapest.

i agree with some of the guys above. pick up the full throttle adapter and line for him and let him pick the master cylinder. that way he can pick the master her prefers... 2 thumbs up for a chick like u to buy him stunt stuff rather than **** he will never use
