switchen to a two stroke

Im selling my xr100r, and i am gonna be buying a 125 two stroke. The reason that i am doing this is that next summer i hope to race. Anyway, with my exspreinces riding my dads and my sisters kx125s is that you cant wheelie out of the power band. I am not that great of a "stunter", and also didnt want to crash there bikes. So i had to becareful that i didnt crash it. But people talk about how they are able to do slow stuff out of the power band. they also talk about how there isnt much engine braking. Is it gonna be a hard time adjusting to this, or will it come fairly easy. Also any other tips with stunting two strokes would be apreciated.

Re: switchen to a two stroke

well you not gonna have any engine brake from that XR100 so that wont be a problem.. Ive rode slow stuff on many 125's once you clutch it strait to BP you dont need any power . but if you dont know BP its gonna take a verry long time to learn on a 2 stroke. Good luck with the racing.. It will teach you alot about a bike. Like how to get though **** with out freezin up like most do. Learn the art of bailing while your at it.

I dare you to give Ryan Moore a 2 stroke and tell him thats all he can do on it I bet if he reads this thread, he goes out and gets a 2 stroke just to prove a point. haha You should have heard the discussion the other night because some kids were talking on another forum about how its impossible to stunt a 50 with extended swing arms and beefed up suspension. I had to convince him not to go spend $15k on a 50 just to prove a point to some dumb *** kids... Even though he will probably still go do it.

Either way, if you get a 2stroke to stunt/race there is going to be some major wrenching to cross over if you are serious about the two. Good luck and have fun. You can kill that thing if you set it up correctly and practice enough!

You can stunt a 2 stroke, it will just take some time to adjust to it. I was able to do slow wheelies, coasters, and was learning circles when i had my rm 250. Tony D kills it on his cr 250, he does pretty much everything and makes it look easy. All it takes is practice my friend. Clutch it up fast and right to the balance point and then you don't need the power band to keep it up. Good luck

Re: switchen to a two stroke

Ive stunted both bikes and never knew what engine brake was tell I got a 600. Now the 600 has crazy strong engine brake with stock sprockets . so strong it makes what I thought I was feeling back then totaly obsolete. So thats why I said that.

Re: switchen to a two stroke

there is more than enough engine brake for SS circles without a HB, the hundo has PLENTY, you just have to stunt it hard enough.

don't sell it, no 2 stroke will ride like it does
