Re: Out for 2-3 mos. fractured vertebrae :(
hey man i work at a back rehabilitation program in NY....don't get a back surgery....most problem can be helped with exercise....and not that physical therapy ****....where they put heat and ice on it........http://pnbconline.com/ ...http://medxonline.com/articles.php the first one is about a group of surgeons that don't do back surgery anymore they found through intense exercise most problems can be helped....the next one is the website of the maker of the machine....and some research summaries....just read through it adding nuts and bolts down the line will cause some serious problems....

Re: Out for 2-3 mos. fractured vertebrae :(
Its a stable fracture of my # 3 lumbar vert. Im gonna try the brace for one week, and if dr dosnt like my natural healing, then im getting some rods and screws....neat. I was test riding a customers Triumph sprint sport tourer bike. I work on a 2 lane 1 way road. I was doing 35-40ish in the left lane when some old *** in an explorer decided to turn left in front of me. I was only able to slide the bike down, it wedged under the side of his suv. The best conclusion I came to was my *** was off the seat a bit, and when the bike suddenly stopped under his car my *** smacked back down to the seat compressing my spine. When I landed I couldnt move my legs, that was the scariest part.
Oh yeah, the ******* and his wife never once said sorry and one of the sales guys overheard him stating I tried to pass him on the left, the cop stated his car was sideways between the lanes and motorcycles genraly dont leave rubber lock up marks when passing, I guess he admited to it once the cop called him out on that. Once I get out of hospital (this week) Im giving explorer man a ride to the cleaners...

I've got the plate and screws set up from C3-C6 three discs were removed, donor bone implanted, spinal cord was bruised and had to be manually stabilized. I felt better within a couple weeks but all the hardware makes me paranoid because when I come up short on a jump it rings my bell now.
Good luck, take it easy, follow directions, don't start doing stuff as soon as you feel better, I ended up having another surgery just two months after the first one from playing too rough, bigger plate, more screws, longer surgery, hellish recovery. The first one was cake in comparison.
