So i'm putting my bike back together after having it totally stripped down to replace the head gasket and paint the plastics/frame and I've almost got it back together but I seem to have run into a problem. I've checked all through the wiring and don't see any bare wires but I don't have any power at all unless my gas tank is touching my frame. Anyone got any suggestions?

 

check all your grounds, somehow the fuel pump is grounding through the tank, it sounds like, completing a circuit

 

Buy another bike

heres your problem you painted your frame and now your grounds arent having a secure connection. check where your wires bolt to the frame and make sure theres no paint in the way by scraping or sanding it off. the bike wont turn on unless its grounded, otherwise you could have whats called a floating ground and zap your bike up or yourself.

I might be able to do that. I'm almost done. Gotta put my chain on oil/coolant, cage and plastics. I'm gonna bleed my brakes tomorrow because I'm damn tired. I got my **** fixed though.

 

what was the problem?

 

why do people do this? they try to get help fixing the problem, then when it's fixed they don't tell what the problem was.

 

I had a bad ground to the frame and some bare wires touching the frame also.
