How do you Drift?

Re: How do you Drift?
yea and you got a pow pow in your aviator...so maybe spend lil more time on your bike before you start trying to drift. and start doing dohnuts (burnout dohnuts) first and get used to counter steering on that

Re: How do you Drift?
Clem those are some nasty drifts bro. I too drift on concrete, it's soooo much easier and the highside/wheelie factor goes WAY down.
How I do it? brake and slide it in.. get it REAL low, basically almost or to the point where your toe is touching the ground, and just dump the clutch and gas it. When you're that leaned over it'll slide like butter and won't buck the bike at all. Don't lock up the rear to a complete stop and then dump the clutch.. you have to carry a little bit of speed to keep the sliding momentum going... remember the almighty countersteer.

Re: How do you Drift?
i was trying them the other night and i high-sided, let the brake off too soon with the bike cranked over and it just flicked me off, was pretty scary to say the least, wont be trying them again anytime soon lol

Re: How do you Drift?
thats the worst thing you can do. when you crash trying something new get right back up and try it again. other wise when you let it sit youll never want to try it again and youll build of this mental block for it.

Re: How do you Drift?
Ooooh man haha that suuucks.. so you didn't even start to drift? You just laid on the brakes, got it sideways and then ate concrete? Burn haha..
and the mental blocks really.. REALLY suck. I had one with rev limiter coasters.. regular long coasters were fine, same with blipping the throttle in a coaster... but I was scared to put it to the bar cuz I crashed one doing a seat stander coaster when I was first learning.
overcame it though and it was soooo worth it.
