Stand up 12's VS Sit down 12's

What did everyone learn 1st?

I learned stand up 12's first. I think they are alot easier both to do & learn. And to control if hte bike goes to one side or wabbles.

After about an hour trying it, i learned to do sit down 12's last night, hit the tail good a few times and slowed it way down for some nice ones. But, i can still ride a slower, steadier stand up.

Im just curious to see what everyone else learned first.

Standing Up...it just feels like you have more control over the bike.

Learned stand ups first but I do sit downs a lot know. Still have more control with standups but my sit downs are getting there. I can do ape hangers and a lot of the bar tricks easier sitting.

true that, it is bad *** sittin down tearin' the bike up. Just gotta muscle the bike to keep it straight. I actually look my fuse panel cover off so i can kind of see when doing sit downs. it looks down the forks.

its player.

Well it's not like Nags can even see over the bike while standing up either so seeing isnt an issue for him.

Sorry, with that picture I just couldnt help it.

when you guys learned stand up 12's, did you ROCK the bar hard right away with little brake or did you pull up the wheelie and ride it back slow with the brake???? i have done sit down 12's, but i really don't like them too much, not enough control ....probably would help if i had a bar too...

Well...since I can't do either I can't really reply, but I'd say sit down twelves look a lot better but stand up will probably be the first way I learn if I ever get a large enough sack to try.

Sitdowns feel a lot cooler than standups! I need a 12 bar though! I hate doing 1oclock in order to scrape the tail!

Anyone have a 02 R1 12 bar?

oh yeah! can you show me your bar pretty please with sugar on top?

I've been thinking of making my own special scraper that doesn't make the bike look really ugly on the ***....

When you guys do standups, do you get up there and tap the brake when you need to, or drag the brake as you go up?
