to make a long story short its because the chrome part of the fork is thin and small and it gets distorded from flexing back forth

durty-dont count ur chickens before they hatch, ihave had te front end do me good for 3 years before they snapped...and this front end was tight as a clams *** and not leaking a drip of fluid...those are mine above you...i finally got the bike to my hosue yesterday and lookd at it again...where the thinkwalll chrome part threads in, mine snapped about 3/4 of an inch into the threads...ill take sum more picutes when i find my camera

damn hope u didnt get to hurt!!! im getting a 04 636 with 5000 miles on it......so i dont know wat to do i have a set of 05 forks lying around but now those snap also???

its been said that the 05 sets are starting to show the same signs of the 03-04 sets

so bills working on a set for those yrs for the people that have already made the swap and that run those bikes

and ya he got pretty fuct up on that wreck

i havent heard of any breaking but a reputiable source said his were starting to leak and a little loose...im gonna get either 05-6 and get the sleeve done or look for a 07-8 front end...
and i was pretty lucky with my wreck...3rd gear and they snapped, i shattered my thumb, spraied boths wrists pretty good, and ALOT of rash all over my knees and upper body....

Mine broke, the bike wasnt a year old and had 2000 miles on it.
