get it?

Only way to tell is trial and error... but its not as simple as many people thing with 50MM = 50MM and everything will bolt right up... also you have to remeber that rotor and caliper spacing might be different... lots of spacing and clearance issues when doing this... TRIAL AND ERROR, trial and error... we'll get it figured out!
Ill see what I can find for the R1 bearings.

the issue with R1 stuff is just what john said, spacing. you have to use the R1 wheel, rotors AXLE, etc so all your spacings have to be factory R1...hence why you must use R1 triples.

Re: New Thread for 636 forks /looking for new forks to put on 636

the measurements that matter are more the top and mid of fork diameter to see if they fit the triples and yea the length is some what important also not just stem length of the triples but diameter aswell and the demention of the races. if the outside diameter is the same and the stem lengths will work then u can swap out races and bearing and make any frontend work that is roughly the same length and 1" isn't **** u drop mere then tahat by ridin with clip-ons over the triple \

lol ok i just read the last page someone else caught on to the fact that its not just all about simple 50mm and blah blah measurements and my 2 cents is the easy way is to get a complete frontend forks.triple, wheel,to mount up only way to do that is get the triple to fit up i.e triple bearing and race sizes are the key who knows mayb lets say 1000rr races in a 636 could alow for r1 front end to mount up or gsxr750 upper races and bearing and f4i lowers whatever its all in the numbers

We're all in this together bro, i dont want to see another fellow stunt rider eat it cause of broken forks! Let's work together to figure out the easiest solution to this problem then help each other find good deals on whatever it is!

I think another cause is that people are driving with badly aligned forks. Ones crashed the forks are not in line with each other. Still both are bolted to same front axl. When the forks now compress fully during endo, it causes lot of forces to the fork bottoms. Also miss alignment causes fork bushings to go. Make sure the front is aligned! you can check it by putting some straight bar over the tyre so it contacts both forks, then put another straight bar to the top nuts. then visible check if the forks are aligned! if not, loosen bolts and straighten it out, it usually just twisted from the triples.(steering lock is at the lower triple and handle bars are at the top, so everytime the handlebar hits the ground, the forks get miss aligned.

older forks can be more miss aligned as they are so bendy. these new short light and stiff ones cannot it. but i'm not sure can they handle it even if they would be aligned properly. I'm just saying that if they are not, they have a hard time.

Just remember Ryan, even if the forks DO slide in and fit/tighten down good... he 636 triple might have different spaceing (width) than the R6 setup... so try using different combinations of 636 and R6 Wheels/spacers/ect...

hopefully the axle is the same size... if you cant make that work you might have to take the route i did with the GSXR setup and try R6 races in the 636 frame...
