Smile who's stuntin 500?

Hey, guys. I wrecked the 500 and busted up all my skins (ran out of road before I ran out of curve) and totaled it. No reason not to stunt 'er anymore.
I know SOMEONE has to be stuntin' a 500. What kind of setup are you runnin'? General consensus seems to be 50 to 70 teeth rear 16(stock) to 14(-2) teeth front. any thought or opinions or other tips?
I'm in smalltown, biblebelt, usa so the stunt scene is scarce...the bike scene is pretty scarce in fact-no pros to smack me around. Leave me somethin' and Thanks.

Re: who's stuntin 500?

and you're powerin' up on rear pegs?! you gotta explain that to me for real! I don't know much about the gs, cuz I ain't crazy about that huge frickin' lip on the stock sides of the full fairing, but what kinda grunt's that thing pushin' out. I've never really tried to power up on the ex cuz I just assumed it wouldn't...but maybe it will

Re: who's stuntin 500?

Idk, i never rode an ex ... i took the fairing off to make the front end lighter ... idk man put a foot on the left peg, lean back and gun it, but watch that rb. I can power it up with the left foot/leg on the seat too. sit downs and tank wheelies i have to clucth up.

Re: who's stuntin 500?

I've tried to wheelie my ex500 countless times, but i can only get the front tire about a foot and a half off the ground.

Re: who's stuntin 500?

don't know, Matt. up to this point I have yet to stunt the ex (stuntin' my brother's ttr125), cuz it cost me too much to f it up. but I bauched it in a sick switchback on the 4th of july - jacked up all my skins and totaled the bike (nice hole in my knee too). Now, there's no reason not to raise hell on it. :YEAH

Re: who's stuntin 500?

yea, backwoods tennessee ain't the best place to stunt either (lots of gravel and DA cagers). I'll hit up the old wal-mart lot after I put a new battery on and some maintenance. A friend's had it since my knee was f'd up pretty bad.

Re: who's stuntin 500?

that video is awesome on the gs 500. as far as the 500 ex goes it should be a fine stunt bike. as far as getting it up goes just slip the clutch and up it will come. nobody powers up anyways. my ex250 would pop up like hell if i slipped the clutch and wheelied on that before i knew how to actually do it right and use the RB and all that good stuff. i just did sit downs. and to set up your bike read all the comments under the video of the gs and they what they do with forks and 12 bars i believe...

dont be a hater. not everybody can afford to have certain bikes. "Run what ya brung!" the only problem i see with the gs is that its air cooled and carbed. being carbed really doesnt set you back any but that is debatable... air cooling might be a problem im not sure. i think the ninja is liquid cooled. im not for sure though...

Re: who's stuntin 500?

can't say that I disagree completely with Nash BUT it was one of those "this is the bike you're gettin" deals from my parents when I was 15. I had to pay for it too...figure that one out!

edit: insurance is dirt cheap to as Matt pointed out
