Re: handbrake setup

dirtytoes, i'm confused on what you mean by "catching" it.....i thought i knew but i guess i don't.

when you're clutching it up, you have a finger on brake and clutch right? if so then your finger should be right there to work on the clutch. no "catching" involved.

i meant catchin bp with the hb, not catchin the hb lever.

in other/simpler words, i can't keep my middle finger on the hb while my index is on the clutch....at least not when i pull in the clutch.

Re: handbrake setup

I have mine set the same way.. works perfect and can work both at the same time for stalling off of **** or just stalling out of SS circles or whatever... I dunno why you can't catch your bike, maybe try moving all your levers down more.. mine are pointed pretty far down because of the angle you're at when you're in a wheelie.

Re: handbrake setup

i just got it in the mail today!

but its bin a bitch to install...i've spent like 3 hours on it already.

when the handlebars are turned to the left, there is like 6mm of freeplay...but when the handle bars are turned to the right, there is 0mm.

WTF, i've already re-routed it like 30 times!

u guys with an f4i...do you run the cable inside or outside the frame?

outside the frame, then between the fork tube and frame

Re: handbrake setup

ya, same here but i'm not getting the same freeplay all around.

the cable first runs outside the frame, over the radiator hose, through the forks, over/by the triple and into the lever.

i talking about the hb line?

mine is inside the frame then comes out on the right side of the steering neck and goes under the top triple and over to the left to my hb.

Re: handbrake setup

DirtyToes - your setup should coast just fine.

You can set it up how ever it's comfortable to you, but putting the HB on the inside (closer to the forks) and the clutch on the outside (closer to the grip) gives you more leverage on the master cylinder which means less work for your finger. I'm going to put on a little longer lever but this setup works great for me...

Re: handbrake setup

and binder, i was talkin about the clutch cable, not the hb line....my line also runs THROUGH the frame, under the tank....its the clutch cable thats the problem.
