Re: r1 chain on r6
what is the difference between OEM R1 and a OEM R6 chain? It really shouldnt matter what chain your using as long as it's the right pitch. I think 00 R6 is 530. http://www.haibikeshop.com/store/ind...a257fcd5f0bd80

Re: r1 chain on r6
usually 600's run a 520 or a 525. but i know for some reason the R6's run a 530. At least my cousin's did. i could be wrong. But if you change the pitch of your chain you have to change the sprockets too. If your bike has a 525 chain on it now you have to get a 525 chain to replace it or get different sprockets for a 530.
Most people that have 530 chain's change to lighter 520 or 525 chain. Some people say it makes a huge difference some dont. I had 530 on my gsxr and i run 525 chain and gearing now.
If you look on your chain in between the links should be a number. It will either say 520, 525 or 530.
Also if your are changing your chain you should prolly change your sprockets. Esspecially if it's still stock gearing from 2000. I never really did this on anything unless it looks worn but you are always suposed to change the sprockets when you change the chain or vise versa.
hope that helps
