a qualified mechanic, new seals(dust and oil), fork seal driver(or old fork seal), new fork oil (a lil heavier is nice), check bushings....may need replacing (but not always), service manual is nice to have handy too

depending on the area.....$100 isn't that bad. I pay about $60-70, but you can walk down the road and pick up a hooker! Its the best race shop around, so thats where I take it, not just for the hookers!
the race shops around here use race specs and ignore the service manuals tho....i.e. instead of using a fork oil AMOUNT to add when changing the seals, they measure by using the fork oil LEVEL. Seems to be a lil more accurate I guess. Plus they know ways to tweak ur front end, and ways to help prevent blowing your seals again!
They hooked me up with "seal savers", basically neoprene that covers the seals and doesn't allow dirt, sand, rocks, from gettin to the seals. Seem to work pretty good, for about $190 I bought new seals, heavier fork oil (Silkolene 10W or 12W), heavier (1.1) fork springs, seal savers, and labor.......and haven't touched em in almost 18 months!
