Re: cheap ***'s 11:53/scrape bar

ah nah man, its not a one or the other thing... put everything you can fit on there for added strength :D zip ties, hose clamps, duct tape, shoe lace, more zip ties, more duct tape :P

you need some welding practice though, is shouldnt cost you too much to get a pro to drop a couple of welds in it for you if you agree to do all the prep and finishing work, **** in NZ you could get the whole thing made for you on a friday arvo for a box of ****, thats from scratch with your mats and a naked bike lol

Re: cheap ***'s 11:53/scrape bar

I'm going to build it up more for sure, whether or not it will do jack **** or save the brake light some abuse while tearing apart the sub frame I don't know...It's more like a security blanket(mental), and some thing to do while waiting for a new rearset.

If you don't know what you are doing, or you're not sure if it will work or not, then just buy one from a company that makes them

Re: cheap ***'s 11:53/scrape bar

That bar is better than some I've seen, but that bar won't hold up to a gorilla slam. That type of bar is only for people who know how to TAP the tail, and even so those people that know how to TAP the tail would never use that type of design. You are going to split your subframe in a heartbeat!
