Re: 2006 Suzuki Gsxr 600 as a stunt bike

worst part is suzuki knows it but arnt calling a recall because itll cost them to much and ruin their sales. if you talk to any suzuki reps through dealerships suzuki will just send you a check to shut up and brush it under the carpet....

i wonder if you could tig some aluminum support plates around the area to strengthen it. the alloy might be gay though.and ive seen the swingarms crack at the welds too.

Re: 2006 Suzuki Gsxr 600 as a stunt bike

Here's my theory, **** breaks especially when you crash HARD. I ride an 04-05 600 and with the oil p/u I can 12 it all day long and it runs like a champ. Last week I dropped it HARD 4 times, one of them completely from the 12 bar that I was working on scrapping. Granted my powers cage absorbs a lot of impact but...... Another one of my buddies rocks an 04 750 and trust me, it's been through hell and back. Don't get me wrong, I'm a 636 fan and definately a Honda fan, but **** breaks when you crash it hard. And Frog, those pics are from two bikes that were drag racing and slammed into a curb. What do you expect. Hell, I remember when everyone was saying don't buy a 03-04 636 cause their forks snap. The conclusion here is **** breaks especially when you run them into trees and curbs, granted Suzuki's might break easier but non the less it's common sense.

Re: 2006 Suzuki Gsxr 600 as a stunt bike

that headstock area is so thin, just look at the pic, where it's broken.

I've seen lot of bikes, because I always visit insurance company sales, where they sell crashed bikes. new suzukis are always torn apart from the frame.

I have never seen 954 or 929 with busted frame. even with head on collisions where the top triple is torn apart, the frame is fine.

that kind of cast frame may be fine for street bike, but for stuntbike it's not.

Re: 2006 Suzuki Gsxr 600 as a stunt bike

Just tested mine out:YEAH , and a FI cage too!!

Both fine! Me?? I'm sore... wrists mainly.... I'm glad I finally got the first good wreck out of the way, now time to kick it in the *** and leave my motard at home instead of this one all the time.....WHEW!

I think I need a bigger tank dent, or I need a heavier ***!

here's how it went down........
Tank wheelie, brought it back on the handbrake, and then I got scurd cuz of the unfamiliar height of slowin down a spreader with a weak *** dent, and I slipped off first, or started to slilp and panic set in, hell, I dunno what exactly, but too much HB and next thing I know, I'm in front of the thing gettin pushed a bit on the shoulder of the highway..... lol I think I rolled once before the bike caught up with me sliding on my butt.....?
wish it was on video, so I could see it.... usually during wrecks, **** goes into slow motion for me... not this time. It was FAST!

Yes it was on the streets, and yes it was still with stock gears ... all in first gear for the most part under 30mph at the time of: "oh **** hundred hours".....

I had to turn my key off/back on to get it to start? Gas leaked out all over, and I was really surprised and shocked at the minimal amount of damage, and how good my bike still is!!!
Only scratched up my tank some, my FI cage is now finally broke in, and my right clip-on felt weird like maybe slightly bent?? It's just the stocker flipped, turned out, and swapped... no biggie. But that was all the damage that it did!!

Now tonight, I'll get right, and then go check the frame for cracks, and my cage for any bent bolts or what not... ya know, the stuff broken that I maybe can't see under the surface..... For now though, I'm pleased with the outcome of this one.

All that worry of this and that..... my cage, my frame......ect. It did go through my little head at the time the bike and me came to a rest.... but I couldn't stop laughing for some reason. LOL All the "gixxers are fixxers" threads and words from my friends.... they did get through my pig headed-ness somewhat I guess.....

I'm sitting here now wondering why I just don't care about myself or my property very much... and I got no answer other than this **** is fun....

I'd do it every day of the week if I could, and I'm not worried about my gixx being less of a bike. Not that I ever really was before, but now especially after this wreck...... Just like I said before it is the rider, not the bike that makes a good stunter. In my opinion anyways...

watch I'll have to post up pics of some hairline frame cracks later and eat my words.....hahahahahahaha
Jinxed myself just now, prolly.

Re: 2006 Suzuki Gsxr 600 as a stunt bike

the new 06/07 gixxers are JUNK!!! for stunt riding...on my 2nd motor, snapped the sub 2 times...cracked a wheel from a 180 stoppie... bike is 5 months old...seems to be decent now after the new solid sub and motor...well see what happens the next time I ride...

Re: 2006 Suzuki Gsxr 600 as a stunt bike

I met a kid at the spot I practice at. He has an 06 600 and set it down from a wheelie and the front end cracked off right at the welds. Scary **** fo sho. Thats why I bought a Honda. Cant wait to get it on the road next week.

Re: 2006 Suzuki Gsxr 600 as a stunt bike

Probably jinxing myself but when i ride the interstate to school i roll low rpm BP wheelies for a mile or so all the time with no oil pickup, my fan doesnt work and i ride in a parking lot with my bike between 240-250 for long periods of time it runs strong after 17,000 and i like where to BP is kinda far back it looks good,,, IMHO the worst part is the fairing doesnt take any abuse at all, i mousetrapped a highchair and broke the entire front fairing and light off

Not bragging it up by any means but al bikes got there pros and cons

**** hes talkin bout an 06, mines a 05 disregard what i said, i dont know **** bout those

Re: 2006 Suzuki Gsxr 600 as a stunt bike

its all personal preference...rock what u got...ive had 3 suzukis...02, 05 and my 06...06 is by far the best...im not a beginner, but im no professional..yeah so what u gotta rape it a little to get up to BP...but after that its all butter and the thing pulls hard..my boy rode mine today, he whipped out SS circles and flamigo circles faster then i could count..and his boy rode it too and liked it alot...thats 2 guys coming from a f4ezy and 636...but anyways..its a good bike.i like it and ill keep rocking gixxers..
