Good bike, I prefer my 04 but my buddy rides an 05. A little more power and the front end is a little better. I for one like the looks better on the 03-04 and parts are hella eazy to find. Kawi makes a good bike all around, that's my two cents. I believe OMR rocks a newer one and he kills it.

That's actually not too bad as long as it has low miles (8000 or less) and is in mint shape. As far as selling your 1000 I don't know, that is also a sweet bike. I myself love my 636 and wouldn't trade for a bigger bike but that's my opinion. If you are a good rider you can ride the 636 just as quick as the cbr just not top end. If you're looking to get into stunting, I would recommend buying a pos and then spending that 6gs when you get decent.

Re: 05 636 to 03 636

i own a 05-06 636 and im just starting to get good at stunting but i know a lot about bikes. il post the pros and cons of both

03-04 pros: more parts, cheaper, full metal tank.
cons: **** weak front forks,

05-06 pros: faster, more power, really good forks,
cons: half metal half plastic tank.

overview: i have road both and now that the 07-08 636 is around the 03-04 are going to fade leaving the 05-06 to become more popular and this is already happening. the half tank is not that big of a deal some even like them more and now that there are more companys making cages for the 05-06 and even sub cages i would go with the 05 and thats a good price for it as well.

Re: 05 636 to 03 636

Hey man,
I stunt a '04 636 and love it but honestly, speakin as one who has THRASHED the poor bike, i have to go with what chet3310 said...

If you're looking to get into stunting, I would recommend buying a pos and then spending that 6gs when you get decent.
I paid 6k for my bike beginning of this season (after i totaled my r1 last season), and honestly i regret it. The bike was BEAUTIFUL when i got it: Hotbodies under tail, full Yosh, alarm system, mint! etc.. and all i have done is beat the living s*** out of it.

They are great bikes, but if your lookin to truly stunt, go with a pos.

This my . lol

Good luck man!

if you know so much about bikes you would know that the 07 08 is not a 636 its a 600. the 636 no longer exists, the zx6rr used to be the 600 and the zx6r was the 636. now the zx6r is the 600 and the other doesnt exist. and the 05 06 produces the same power as the 03/04. might feel a little different but the hp numbers are almost identical. and the half metal tank actually dents way easier than the full tank, which its not a half tank really its just the airbox is in front of the tank instead of underneath and theres a plastic cover. the real pros of the 05 06 is that it has an undertail exhuast which serves as a great stock 12 bar, no round bar needed. what sucks about the 05/06 is that the rims are much weaker, the tail light will need to be glued in cuz its gonna pop out and eventually break the mounts and as with the 03/04 the ram air tube that serves as a fairing stay is plastic and brakes pretty easily.
