Re: the next level...
ya, i hate to say it but i wanted it out there cause i know someone else is thinking it.
going mainstream is a double edged sword.
skateboarding is a good example. before it went mainstream, ya, the kids got shooed off property, but nobody really thought about it. now that it's mainstream it seems like now every kid skateboards and they do it everwhere.....which now instead of a couple kids, is a lot of kids and that angers businesses because they destroy the property. now you don't just get told to leave when skateboarding, you get arrested for it. my dad's office was that way, there were a couple kids skateboarding on his entrance, no biggy, then all of a sudden there were like 15-20 of them and they completely destroyed his tile entrance and walkways in a matter of a month. you think he likes skateboarders when they destroyed 5 grand in tile on the front of his building? no.

Re: the next level...
Its not even that though im sure he could just toss that money but he is making money off this, like 10 million people went to the website and voted on the future of the ball myself included! And I guarentee you every click on that site was money in his pocket, hes just a dude who saw money in doing it and even if he doesnt gain profit from it he will be turning money guarenteed AND he is now a part of baseball history and one of the biggest records.

Re: the next level...
its been said for years n years now its not about what you know but who you know.
and also you dont have to be the best rider to be the most well known. PR skills are key. look at bubba blackwell he can do slow wheelie highchair 15 ft stoppie and burn outs and he makes 250k a year working for harley. doing shows every other weekend at different harley dealers.
you guys bash kane how theres better riders out there but yet you almost compliment him more because hes more well known than any of those riders because he knows how to market himself.

Re: the next level...
marc ecko makes money by selling clothing... him buying that ball was super smart advertisement.. he probably got more ROI from that 750k he spent on that ball than any 750k he ever spent on TV commercials
