FI cage rant

just wanted to vent about the FI cage for the CBR 600 F3. It sucks! (well sorta, its good at protecting my engine) but EVERY time I drop/wreck my bike it rolls up on the clipons and smashed everything! Grrrrr now I have to buy new clipons and another master cylinder!

who makes a cage for the F3 that has extended sliders to prevent this from happening? I ordered the F3 thinking it was supposed to.

Re: FI cage rant

Every frame is different where it mounts..the F3 is low and will roll, the 600rr is notorious for rolling....so i had to imprivise..I made longer sliders and my rear subframe cage helps also....but the cage can only do so much...NO CAGE IS 100% Protection..

I LOVE my FI's Never any issues....

my 929, 954 and 600rr are all equipt!

Re: FI cage rant

the problem is it doesn't even have sliders on the cage I was hoping someone might know a cage for the f3 that'll stop it from rolling over

Re: FI cage rant

I agree..

Look what happened to mine

My only advice is this.. **** FI

Dont go with grade 8 bolts because you want them to break before anything else.. I replaced my warped 8's with 4's..

I know its a bitch to drill them out when they break but you wont be replacing the whole engine...

Oh yes.. P.S. Im on my 3rd set of 7/8 upper bars FTW!

Re: FI cage rant

it's hard for cages to hold up to the heavy *** STEEL FRAME 500lb F3 slaming the ground.

never seen a cage w/out sliders.... must be old school design
